What are they like? Handful of us planning one but as a northerner, the cost is hefty. £100 train £100 hotel £60 ticket £100 booze £100 AoB Do fancy it as there’s a couple of us who are new to the boxing frat and me personally have only ever been to biggish fights on UK soil. Are they decent nights?
York Hall is a great venue in that it’s historic, you have a good view from pretty much anywhere and it’s v. close to the underground. My close friends aren’t really into boxing so I went with a guy (American) who had never been to a show in the Uk and he really enjoyed it. Went to the Bentley-Dignum show so was a decent level with a small hall feel. He’s only in Brent Cross though so nowhere near as far out as you. You might spend less on beer than you think when at the show as you can’t take it into the seating / viewing area anymore and you can’t view the ring from the bar. If you do go , even in the winter it can get pretty warm in there, in the summer it’s a sauna lol All that said it’s a huge outlay when you add train + hotel so really up to whether you’re willing to spend that much on a night of boxing
York Hall is good but at that price it's a bit hefty when you can find some small hall shows more local to you
If travelling down for that far, I'd plan a weekend out to make it worthwhile It's real old skool boxing at its finest but worth a travel from that far? Maybe not just the boxing but a few other bits might justify it mate
If, or when you do come down, I'd recommend going to one of the Goodwin Promotions events - Event List | Goodwin Boxing although I've not been to one myself for a couple of years, but they do, or did tend to be entertaining and competitive for the main part.
