Are people becoming a little hypocritical when it comes to Usyk?

That's letting him off the hook. He had AJ helpless on the ropes and just stopped fighting for the last 20 seconds.

AJs recent opponents do not sufficiently reflect his ranking. He already lost top Usyk twice, can't seem to get/doesn't want a fight with Fury and refuses to fight any of the other top contenders.

    • Fight AJ and get 50 million dollars
    • Fight Kabayel and get 10 million dollars

Which one would you choose if you were Usyk?

Well, the same goes for the scenario if Dubois beats Joshua, lol. He should be rated higher than Fury.

That's neither here nor there the fact is J-Park has a brace of back to back wins over top 5 ranked opponents and AJ hasn't beaten anyone ranked in the top 5 since the Fat Andy rematch

And FTR, my stance hasn't changed. The Dosser is and always has been a low skill manufactured can crushing one-trick pony hype job albeit a very dangerous punching one who forged a career off bowling over low to no skill cans and when he actually fought legit guys who possess actual skills he got his ass whooped every single time sans Ortiz who still whooped his ass for every second of both their fights prior to getting clipped by The Dosser's big right hand

That being said, he's clearly a better win than Ngannou, Franklin, Wallin, and Helenius and I've wanted to see AJ spark him out cold for a long time

Boxing fans aren't HYPOcritical, they are HYPER critical. Except when it comes to their own favorite figh-oh-okay, I see what you mean.

So Usyk is chasing money and not legacy ?

You as a boxing fan want to see something that you already have seen two times or something that helps boxing and such a weak HW division ?

    ===============================================================================

Every boxer should prove that he is top in every single fight. NOBODY is getting a pass.

Why doesn't Usyk fight for free then? Maybe he should attend street fight tournaments to add to his legacy, 50 dollars per win. And he can broadcast them on his YouTube channel.

I don't particularly want to see AJ-Usyk 3, but comparing that to Fury's successive clown shows against Chisora and Ngannou seems a bit disingenuous or poorly thought through. Subject to beating Dubois, which I'm confident he will, AJ is the 2nd or at worst 3rd-best guy in the division. This wouldn't just be a money fight, but probably the toughest fight Usyk can take at that point considering he'll have aged another few years since the last fight and AJ remains in his prime.

Usyk doesn't go for easy fights, Fury does.

With that said, I'd much rather see Usyk fight a Parker or Kabayel at this point. Both those guys might be future champs once Usyk/Fury retire, so would be nice pre-emptive legacy builders and also just something different to watch - both those guys have earned shots IMO. Usyk has nothing left to prove against AJ.

Answer the question, is he fighting for a money or for a legacy ?

Why not fight Paul brothers for 150 million ? Is boxing joke to you ?

You're acting like he doesn't already get paid millions regardless of who he fights. You think the Saudis are gonna short change the #1 in the division?

It wasn't a lineal title defense but Usyk did fight Derek Chisora and thats his 4th best HW opponent.

Joshua did way better in the rematch though he lost clearly. The rematch or a fight against Fury is the most competitive in the HW division.

Fight Aj and maybe get knocked out

I would still favour usyk, but he is past his prime, while Aj is still physically in his. There is a real chance he could age and get stopped

He beat him twice already and has nothing to prove, but money talks so will likely happen again
