Because 90 percent of pro boxers are fearless guys like Frazier with no quit in them, all boxers like that even hypejobs. Again, you have either heart and would die in the ring or you quit and would be remembered for quitting like Duran and Liston.
Because 90 % of pro boxers DO NOT possess the almost insane courage that Joe Frazier had, although of course they were stiil brave men.
Come on.........try and show some integrity. As I keep saying, read the back-story to Ali vs Liston. But of course you wont will you ?
Here, ill even drop this right here for him https://www.newspapers.com/article/the-irving-daily-news-texan/103574716/
Nice one, buddy,Sonny Liston really had to cut back on his preparations for the Ali fight because of the very debilitating condition of his shoulders. There is absolutely no way a modern fighter would enter the ring under the same conditions that Sonny had to endure.
Hmmm. Beat the 1st two-time heavyweight champion (back when there was one belt) twice. Didn't just beat him, TERRIFYINGLY DOMINATED HIM.
Frazier entered the ring half blind, high body pressure and almost died with no quit in him. Patterson fought ali with completly broken back and screwed ligaments. Harry Greb fought with broken hand, half blind too. So you're still trying to pull shoulder excuses?
Not true, all 70s and 90s fighters were tough and would rather die than quit but hey, it hurts your hero reputation...I know. Do you think there was a quit in Chuvalo,Quarry,Norton or Holyfield,Bowe, Tua etc? I don't think so.
Again you are wilfully refusing to read ( or more likely refusing to acknowledge ) the background to the Muhannad Ali vs Liston fight.
Just to remind you that Ali had huge respect for Sonny Liston, saying Sonny gave him his toughest fight( at least in his first career ).In fact Liston was the only man to give that wonderful peak version of Ali any sort of a fight, despite suffering crippling shoulder injuries. As for Floyd Patterson well you are giving a somewhat florid description of Floyd fighting with a '' completely broken back ''.What Floyd had was a ruptured sacroiliac joint in his lower back.A painful but fairly common complaint. Obviously Floyd showed tremendous courage in entering the ring in his condition as did Sonny with his severly debilitating shoulder condition. But '' completely broken back '' ? A wild exaggeration. Harry Grab deserves the utmost credit for fighting with a broken hand. Whenever a boxer fights under those conditions he should receive the highest praise.Did you know that Sonny Liston fought several rounds with a broken jaw ?
Hmm....I don't think Ali made any specific reference to Sonny's injuries but he had huge respect for Sonny.Ali is unequivocal in stating that Sonny was one of the greatest heavyweight-champions in history. In fact the two men became good friends.
