Something that I noticed a while back and find interesting is that fighters who have personal issues and mental health issues; they tend to get things in order after not fighting for a while.
The time off allows their brains to heal a bit, probably. Plenty of cases where athletes had to retired due to CTE, only to return many years later because their brains had healed. Some wrestler had several concussions and retired because of it. Many years later they did new cat scans on his brain and he no longer had issues. So he returned and continued to have a successful career.

 

Why retire when you can make good money and barely break a sweat?

Nah.. he’s been a warrior in his career and an over achiever because of it - as I think he did very well with less talent than other guys around the top level.
