Berlanga was mentally beaten before the midway point, but he stuck at it and even though his team were looking for the out he hung in there. First title shot against Canelo I don’t think he could have done more. Well done from me mate

ACTUALLY pleasantly surprised at Berlanga's performance. The moment the fight was announced i brushed it off as the most lopsided title fight i'll have seen skillwise in the past decade, but Berlanga stuck it out!

Canelo is not, and never was, the best fighter in the world. Most popular, sure, but Trump and Biden are popular too, but completely useless. Let's just move on, Pedelo's ducking of dangerous fighters like Benavidez is not going to end before he retires.

Canelo would be crazy to retire. He makes multi-millions every time he steps in the ring, even against marginal opponents. He's worked his whole life to get here.

My thing with Canelo is, we know you can beat guys like Plant, Charlo, Munguia, Berlanga but can you beat Benevidez is the the question every boxing fan has, I think he can but he needs to prove it already, becuz it's looking like the biggest duck in boxing as days go by. We don't want Crawford, we want the Mexican Monster at 168 or even at 175. **** everything else.

Berlanga was not a marginal opponent tonight ( on paper maybe), for anyone else in the division he would be a credible opponent

Did you just equate Canelo to being totally useless?
I´m sorry, but have you seen his resume? What an absurd statement to make.

Canelo's now on the downturn. Bivol would have been risky for him even in his prime.

He's probably in the same phase as Pacquiao between Rios and Bradley III. Not as explosive, sharp, and fast as before, and reflexes have faded for sure, but still clearly an elite fighter despite the loss in dynamism and athleticism. People calling him washed up or done are overreacting. He'd still be a handful for Benavidez and could win. Although at this stage, I think it's possible he'd be out-hustled by a bigger, fresher, more active guy.

Of course there was no chance of Berlanga getting a few extra rounds off of the judges LOL. Not that he deserved them, but just on the principle of the thing.

Canelo is definitely starting to look his age.
