Why does he sweep here against Curry? How does he fight him? Why is Curry vulnerable to what he’d do? I’m just curious, I haven’t watched them in a bit and no one’s really explaining much on how the fight would go in any detail and why.
Floyd kept a bigger Canelo honest. Floyd was a 5 division champion. He clearly had power to keep fighters honest. It's not like Curry is known for having a granite chin either. I just don't see it. I think Curry is overrated if people believe Mayweather has no chance of winning. I just don't see Floyd struggling to find him. I don't see how Curry could consistently land with his lack of set-ups. He doesn't use a lot of feints and probes that could potentially throw Floyd off. Yeah the jab could be an issue but not enough to win. IMO Curry doesn't have the style. If he was more unconventional like a Duran then I would understand. Curry is too basic IMO. Very good athlete but basic in his approach.
Undefeated ? Baloney !! Floyd owes his career to the vegas judges who gave him winning decisions he did not deserve. I could name 6 or 7 losses Floyd really should have had.
I think personally Starling was as good as Floyd do you think Floyd ever beat a 147lber as good as Don Curry?
In real life undefeated multi division champ...................on Classic a borderline Journeyman. In real life 118-110 vs Pac....................that is where all the soreness comes from, they just cannot cope.
OK Here go 1& 2 ,,,, GGG 1 & 2 3 ..........Castillo1 4.......... Maidana 1 5..........Judah DQ 6......... Ortiz DQ 7..........Lara Draw There are a couple more close ones as well
Canelo was in no way as skilled as prime Curry. Definitely wasn't as fast. In fact Alvarez has been one of the more overrated fighters of the last 10-15 yrs. ( Very easy to see when watching him closely on film, Mayweather Jr. Knew that, it's the reason he fought him) There's nothing that special about Alvarez, other than he fights in a very weak era of boxing. He's also a student of Mayweather Jr's choose your competition carefully school. If you want to see how having a great jab can offset a great counter puncher. See Curry v Starling Ali vs Patterson Monzon vs Napoles Leonard vs Benitez Hearns vs Benitez to name a few. Curry being " basic" ( Your words) tells me you have no Idea about him. Curry possessed every punch in the book with power and speed, his combination punching was instinctive and sharp. His technical expertise was just about perfect. He also had over four hundred amatuer fights with less than a handful of losses, that in itself should tell you something about his skill level. Especially during that time frame when the competition was so deep. So when you're calling him basic tells me you've probably watched a few highlights of his losses but that's about it. If anyone's been basic at welterweight it's been May Jr. He chosed his opponents very carefully, so he never had to change much to beat them..... Las Vegas knew it. He was always favored to win.......
