The best Max fights the best CW version of Holyfield. I think Holyfield could be too busy for Schmeling.

Holyfield stops him, Holyfield would bait Schmeling’s right hand counter, to then counter of his own, Holyfield was versatile, he wouldn’t fall for that.

Schmeling's right hand was extremely difficult to counter. Not only did he use it unpredictably, he threw it with tremendous speed and then looped it around into his cross guard, immediately covering himself after throwing it.
If there is a ko, it's not Holyfield producing it.

Schmeling was an excellent fighter who sometimes came up with bad gameplans, like slugging with Maxie Baer.

Holyfield was an excellent fighter who sometimes came up with bad gameplans like slugging with Bowe.

Overall though, I think Holyfield has more arrows in his quiver than Schmeling. Add the PED advantage and I think Schmeling is having a hard time here.

Beats me. Maybe not. Holyfield could get kinda wild when loading up on guys his own size or less. Schmeling was actually not too bad at slipping stuff. He might well have his moments.

I think Holy would be too well-rounded for Schmeling - though tbf, that's probably true of almost any CW-sized opponent.

Schmeling signing the fight and getting in the ring with Holyfield would be a bad game plan in and of itself

    What PED advantage at Cruiser?

Anyway, I picked a draw. It’s just about a pick ’em & a draw seems strangely likely to me. Schmeling more experienced & intelligent but Holyfield busier & more dynamic.

    1990-92 Heavyweight Holyfield, I’d favour.

That's a fair point. We don't know whether Holy was juicing at cruiser.

Why would a decision be scheming? They're usually upfront & honest.

    Holyfield by midround stoppage.
