Mendoza Vs Mcvey Lore

The lore is as extensive as One Piece, I think it largely stems from the Jeffries-Johnson debate in which both sides are adamantly in favour of one side. Mendoza is also kind of a jackass who appears to be slightly impaired cognitively, though I do agree with him sometimes.

I’ll give credit to Mendoza on one thing he leans more into the credibility of film than newspaper reports from what I noticed. M was wrong so often even when he had a point it got swept aside as him being a fool, I think he was some kind of autistic? I messaged him once saying WB and he gave a super villain speech about being more powerful now or something - total character or an awesome troll.

 

Let's say it was a clash of personalities.

Mendoza was for the most part very polite, but he was a full on propagandist.

If you produced a devastating rebuttal to something that he said, then he would repeat it a month later when he thought that everybody had forgotten.

McVea was a cantankerous old curmudgeon, and I had a few spats with him.

If you presented him with a sound rebuttal, then he would back down on that issue.

The main point of contention, was that Mendoza idolized Jim Jeffries, and despised Jack Johnson.

McVea respected Jack Johnson, and was a strong critic of Jim Jeffries.

 

I think he is very likely neuro-divergent to an extreme degree

However, I agree that the times he's actually right are overlooked due to his antics. Ironically, I agree with him on Jeffries more than I do McVey, but not to his level. The Mendoza version of Jeffries is basically the final boss of heavyweights.

 

I saw this old thread from like 2010-11 where McVey said he landed in Mendoza's state and called him for a scrap, and I think Mendoza also visited England at some point.

 

He and McVey still argue on the Boxing Scene forum, Dr. Z is Mendoza's alias if I'm not mistaken

 

Correct, he was Dr Z here before his first ban.

 

I am old enough to remember that.

Both say that the other didn't show up.

McVea was clearly a lot older than Mendoza, so I did question it on that basis.
