I think that you have no arguments, and that because you don't have them, you're trying your best to discredit this...but...you can't. Your hero cheated, end of the story.
And I posted 1000 that proves you wrong and even quoted you what Ali said about that. No matter how much arguments, valid ones I would provide and even what Ali said about it, you still can't take that your hero cheated.
When I played a lot of sports I would get sweat in my eyes sometimes and it was blinding. That is a possibility. If Sonny was using some substance what would prevent it from getting it in his own eyes.
It definitely does sweat and get into your eyes but it’ll be nothing CLOSE to what Ali was going through.
In his auto bio published 1975 Ali acknowledged the accidental transfer of a substance used on Liston to Ali’s own eyes - NO mention whatsoever by Ali of Liston having deliberately blinded him. Dundee believed that it was the monsel solution, a highly caustic coagulant, used on Liston’s cut that transferred to Ali’s glove, the glove which Ali often wiped his own brow with - leading to the monsel mixed with sweat dripping down from Ali’s brow into his own eyes. Monsel was later banned. As to Pollino allegedly approaching and offering Ali the very same substance that was allegedly used to blind Ali in Miami - first obvious question is WHY would Pollino even be inclined to offer same to Ali? So Ali took the bottle - WHY did he and what did Muhammad do with the bottle after that? Critical thinking needs to be applied before swallowing such a throw away anecdote hook, line and sinker. AS IF Pollino would incriminate himself in such a manner - in front of Ali himself - let alone incriminate himself at all. Neither Ali or his team lodged a formal complaint against Liston as at the time and as far as I am aware, nor did they put the officials on alert to look out for Liston attempting to blind Ali in the rematch. There was a time when it was falsely claimed that Williams, Folley and Valdes also complained of being blinded. All BS - no such claims were made by said fighters. Pure snowballing of falsehoods. That just leaves Machen who clearly invented his claim 4 years after the fact of his fighting Liston. Why didn’t Machen claim it back then? Straight after the fight against Liston Eddie was happy to state that his injured right hand impaired his performance. Machen also wasn’t at all reluctant to bad mouth Liston otherwise - if he believed he was blinded, he would’ve claimed that also as at the time - in fact he would’ve relished the opportunity divulge same asap. Also, as opposed to Ali, never mind that Machen exhibited no detectable eye discomfort whatsoever during the course of his fight against Liston - such burning in one’s eyes cannot be hidden - as Machen also falsely claimed later.
Lol, you didn’t prove anything. You didn’t provide the clip dummy - someone else linked it and it was a revelation to you.
Years back, a mate at work was eating salt and vinegar chips one time and then rubbed his eye with the same fingers he’d plucking his chips out with - he was in a world of pain for the next 30 seconds. Just saying, **** happens and though I didn’t take the opportunity to pummel him I probably could’ve been more sympathetic rather than laugh as I did at the time.
True, and aside from anything else Pollino retired following a stroke in 1968 and died less than three years after the Ali-Foreman fight. He certainly wasn't lurking around gyms offering random fighters bottles of magic blinding potion in 1974.
