I did provided, just check the post. Also I quoted Mac who posted what Ali said about blinding. So I proved my point and you're still a loser and a douche, cong Puggy.
Blinky Palermo. Friends with Nilon in the early 60s. Was trying to get back into boxing in the mid 70s. Dundee talked about seeing Blinky around the gyms all the time in the mid 70s. Ended up working with Jimmy Young when he upset Foreman. Posed as Young's manager all around San Juan. Was even mocked on air and in the newspapers after Norton-Young when Young lost the decision to Norton. Lots of boxing insiders thought he was about to take control of the division again.
In 20 years some dude will make a thread, “what is the lore between @SonnyListon> and @BoxingFan2002?”
Sort of how I feel about Revolver right now. He is a legend of old, banned to obscurity among past greats like Unforgiven. The Listonzoic era will end with a meteoric ban that will prepare the forum for the new inhabitants, the Clevelanimmals. Williamus Erectus and Williamus Neandertalis will graze along the plains of BF24, the old historic rivalries buried beneath their feet. But for now, crack open a cold one, get some popcorn and enjoy the 80 page epic that will unfold in the following days
Well, not quite up there for now. Both of you are still upcoming fighters, McVey and Mendoza had the equivalent of an old school 20 fight rivalry that some fighters used to have back in the 1910's. But you've got potential, maybe you will surpass them one day. This task is not for the feint of heart. It will be a long and treacherous journey, and you may lose yourselves in the process. But it will be worth it.
I'm sensing a lineage. A decade ago it was the likes of Jeffries, Johnson and Dempsey whose credentials were being discussed to death, even more so than most Heavyweights', which resulted in these long legendary tales of old from posters long gone. Around the mid to late 2010's they were mostly replaced by Marciano, and some posters have ressurected that even in this decade. Now it's Liston. Perhaps later on we will have 50 page threads on the credentials of 70's guys like Ali, Holmes, Frazier and Foreman, then with Tyson, Holyfield, Lewis etc. It won't be too long until all the greatest Heavyweights are considered to be nothing but frauds. Exactly what I had in mind.
Man im the only newcomer here. BF has been here on 5 different accounts for years lol. But yea, ill rise to the challenge.
I’m curious; are there any rounds in Machen-Liston where Machen demonstrated a lack of sight on the level of Ali in that round 5 against Liston?
