Would Holyfield (from Bowe 1, 2 and 3) stand a chance against the monsters of today?

Holyfield would dominate today, Skill trumps size and bigger men simply aren't as skilled as smaller men.

He'd be in contention for a belt. Fury, Usyk give him problems. He'd walk through the Whytes, Chisoras, Ruiz, Parkers, Hergovic, Hangs of today. Too much heart, too strong a chin, too much skill.

Yes, all this talk about size is overblown as was seen with Usyk vs Joshua and Fury.

Id make Holyfield the favorite vs everyone today

Holyfield v Bowe was 1992 and the rematch was 1993. That Holyfield would be dominating if he was around in this era. If a much faded Holyfield was giving prime Lennox Lewis all he could handle in 1999, then an end of his prime Holyfield from 92/93 would be a H2H nightmare for anyone. It would take Usyk type elite to beat him. Even more so, Holyfield from 88-90 is a potential top 3 ATG

If serious, this is gobsmacking. If not serious, it is time we married and had children together, through science.

No but not because of the size of fighters today but because he was sub .500 against the monsters of yesteryear. Holyfield was very good at getting a few rounds and got 6 in his late 40s against Valuev but he lost most of his fights against guys over 6 ft 4. He was 2-4-1.

The size of the average HW has been overrated for dramatic effect. Fury and Wilder are really the only HWs taller than Lennox Lewis and Wlad in todays game. The 6 ft 4-6 ft 6 are just becoming the norm while the low 6 fts are becoming rarer and are more often the bulky types. And that'd be the main problem for Holyfield while in the 90s and 00s he faced that gap 7 times in 40 fights today that number would be way higher.

Size isn't the be all and end all though he still beat bigger fighters and who from todays crop could beat a prime Bowe or Lewis you are talking about two of the most complete fighters to combine size, skill and power

One more thing Wilder is taller but not heavier and AJ is both taller and heavier but would you place him favourite over Holy not many would

Foreman had 50lbs on him and Holyfield gladly traded punches with him. The man was a savage.

I'm thinking more his average fight would be more difficult and less that AJ is better than Lennox and Bowe.

In terms of our current HWs we have no idea how good they are or not because Usyk, AJ and Fury haven't fought them nor have the group behind them like Wilder, Parker, Zhang etc. All champs in this era have heavily favored retreads over giving new contenders a shot. For all we know Kabayel was the best HW all along and he never got a shot. I'm not saying any of the new crop is at that level. But if they were we'd never know they've been frozen out of the top circle much like Lennox Lewis was. Kabayel, Bakole, Ajagba, Wardley. Frank Sanchez and Hrgovic just lost when tested by Kabayel and Dubois. These guys are all around 30 and haven't been tested.

Uysk is the only one I think would have a chance. Fury maybe if Evander has an off night which sometimes happened with Evander.
