Could be that Haymon is trying to get the fight made, but is treading lightly. Or hes playing everyone to the best of his ability and is optimizing his bets. This has always been how Haymon conducts himself, even before PBC was created.

But it´s still pretty odd, because everyone has gone kinda quiet.

Here Benavidez says that he isn´t even at 168 anymore, so it seems like even he is unclear where things are headed. The dude is most certainly not in control of his career.

Edit: I was wrong. Apparently Benavidez has opted to stay at 175. Why the **** is no one reporting on this?

By everyone you mean just you. Trolling is definitely not repeating the truth as reported and recorded by the people in charge. Trolling, my friend...... is posting in all caps about Canelo and Floyd conspiracies in every thread even unprovoked in unrelated threads... you simply cant help yourself. Also losing your **** everytime handwraps come up. Lets be real for a moment, you can't provide any one source besides yourself that states his innocence or you'd have done it by now given your rabid defense of his name. You're asking me to prove what's already out there. I don't have to, anyone can use Google and see every single blow by blow step of his case. The hearing is online as well in paper form. You just need to join the realm of reality and get over it. You somehow see this whole scenario backwards. You're never going to change a single mind about what happened without proof. Period.

No doubt Haymon has had to play double agent in this transaction. Also wonder if he's pulled back a bit after seeing most of his built up PBC names eat dirt these last few years he may be unwilling to sacrifice one of the few hes got left or maybe as simple as not wanting to screw up the end of the Canelo train because Haymon makes money with every Canelo fight too. The human condition is complicated at best lol.

And nobody's talking about him staying at 175 because that narrative isn't as fun as the one we've been running with ya know.

I’m not back peddling at all, what I meant with (somewhat) it that Canelo have a fan base that’s very loyal so he can do whatever he wants and still sell out arenas. I’m not really a fan of his but it was cool to see him fight in front of his fans, it was definitely a fun event to be at. Last time I saw Canelo fight live was against Angulo.

But, if Canelo wants to say he’s the best he needs fight clear contenders and not ppl that’s not even in his weight or that’s not even Top 3 in his weight.

I want to see Canelo fight Benavidez or Morrell but I can understand why he wouldn’t fight Morrell because he doesn’t have the following, Benavidez on the other hand have a big following so it’s no excuse there.

Watch Canelo's fight against ancient Sugar Shane Mosley. He was gassing badly. Move forward and he has clearly taken EPO or something to support his improved cardiovascular fitness, along with the roids etc.

Regardless, Canelo's problem is he can be outboxed fairly easily. Watch him get outboxed by Lara. Even GGG was able to outbox him. It was nothing to do with size when he fought Bivol, he was just outclassed.

Canelo has been able to reduce his loss count by being the A-side, surviving to the bell and getting gift decisions.

He might get a gift against Benavidez but he will get outboxed and potentially outpunched, which would not look great from a legacy point of view.

Canelo will continue with the easy run he has taken his whole career. He's popular, but he ain't great.

one true word from you at last . get the lab reports & read every word. not the csac's doctored version. They weren't man enough to print the truth. not once in the CSAC reports do the ever say any plaster of paris was found but that trace elements of sulphur & calcium, in the amounts on par with human sweat were when microscopically
tested. never once did anyone concerned ever claim Plaster was found in Tonys wraps
if there ever was show proof I have a copy of the lab report in front of me so don't try to lie
its a shame you worship blatant cheats yourself yet call yourself a boxing fan when you blatantly lie about an innocent man that got railroaded typical Floyd/Canelo addict

Agreeing to disagree means we are saying it's okay to have different views...... Which makes us human in the first place. I hate that quote because it's usually only used when someone wants an exit to a conversation that isn't going the way they want it to....lol.

It's all good. Thanks for the discussion.

Canelo has been fighting in front of his fan base for most of his career. I was at the Trout fight...Pro Canelo audience. I was at the Kirkland fight.....Pro Canelo audience. Same with the Liam Smith fight.......... So, I'm really not sure what you mean by Canelo fighting in front of his friends being cool to see. That's a norm for him. Especially when he made it a point to only fight in May and September due to Mexican holidays.

And you seem to be very dismissive of Canelo's career as if he spent his entire career fighting Berlanga caliber opponents. He calls himself the best because of fights vs Cotto, Lara, Trout, GGG (3x), Liam, Kov, Plant, Saunders, Jacobs, Chavez Jr., etc.....Only losses on record coming to a couple big name fighters in Mayweather and Bivol. The same thing being said about Benavidez was said about Charlo and GGG, then after he fought them, they said the same thing about him, just changed the name of who he is ducking......

Canelo being still at the top of his game is the only reason why people are throwing every name up and coming at him. Because for as long as he's been in the game and what he's accomplished, he deserves flowers left and right.....There's nothing left for him to prove. His legacy is solidified. He knows this. Those who are a fan of the actual sport and not just Man Fans understand this as well. But those Man Fans want their favorite Man to get "passed the torch" by attempting to defeat the "Face of the Sport"......Same thing was done with everyone calling out Manny & Floyd.

Benavidez has earned and deserves a fight. He made his mistakes and got stripped, but he has done what he needs to in order to be placed in the ring for those titles Canelo holds. I don't really know the reason why he is choosing to slow play Benavidez. He has a following and he's accomplished. But again, Canelo is the cash cow and he deserves to make his decision on who he fights.

I'll have to check out the Mosley fight again. It's been a while since I've watch it.

And yes, Canelo gets outboxed often. He was outboxed badly by a much smaller Amir Khan..... And yes, he does get gifted decisions. I still feel he lost to Lara and the first 2 fights vs GGG (definitely that first one, the second could be argued a draw). I can't argue those points, because I've express the same things over the years.

But Canelo's timing and power has kept his head above water many times. His fight vs Bivol...to say that had nothing to do with size is dismissive. Canelo couldn't do to him what he did to smaller fighters to weaken them. He made zero adjustments during the 12 rounds.

Becoming the A-side is his strongest tool. Similar to Floyd's career. Who I see Canelo modeling his career after.

The Benavidez fight is the one I want to see. I feel Benavidez deserves that fight more than anyone.
