Watching Wilfred Benitez get overpowered by a mauler like Mustafa Hamsho at middleweight. I remember Hagler being pissed about being denied a nice payday against Benitez, and vowed to take it out on Hamsho in their second title fight. Then Benitez drops back to Jr Middleweight and gets knocked cold by Alex Hilton. I remember it vividly. A left to the side of the head, and Benitez eyes snap shut before he starts to fall to the canvas. Ever the gracious loser, when he came to he raised Hilton's hand with a smile, as he did with Sugar Ray. Last I heard, he was pretty much a basket case in his 40s, in the care of his mother, and that was a while back.

Almost every single John Ruiz fight. Except against Roy Jones and Toney, it was entertaining watching the fraud struggle with light heavyweights. Oh and Tua's 1st round demolition was satisfying.

Tyson vs Smith. No elaboration needed.

Ali vs Holmes. Very painful to watch. I can't believe they let it go on that long when he was trailing behind, getting badly hurt, and didn't have a prayer for winning by KO. Really any fight where a far past his prime respectable champ is getting the crap beat out of them. Some people desperately wanted to believe Ali could pull off another miracle and wrote Holmes off, but all good things must come to an end.

Many Devon Alexander fights. He was a decent boxer at one point, but then just got really ugly and hard to watch. Robert Guerrero too, he became a mindless caveman brawler but lacked the punching power to really make it exciting.

Cotto vs Margarito. Not only was it disgusting cheating, but Cotto was in so much pain it's hard to watch.

Ali v Liston 1 and 2 always hurt me.
Same with Liston v Patterson 1 and 2.
Patterson vs johansson 1 also was hard to see.
Ali vs Frazier 2 and 3 too.

    Hi Guys.
Lots and lots of fights, if I am honest, where one fighter is systematically being beaten up with no chance of winning , where his corner cannot see that it's a hopeless cause, or where their short sightedness, or lack of compassion, or vanity, or a compilation of all the above , do not compel them to call a halt, and I bring the ref into this as well, paramount to all the corners men's views and officials' is the fighters well being and safety, that should be sacriceant, but alas it is not the case unfortunately, this is the sport we love !
    stay safe fellow posters.

Qawi-Leon Spinks was brutal. Of course Duran versus Davey Moore was probably harder to watch

I was a big Roy Jones fan back in the day. So it was tough to see him routinely beaten up and knocked out against fighters he'd have toyed with in his prime.

Luis Resto v Billy Collins for obvious reasons and any ring death, especially Pintor v Owen for me.

But for fights where there wasn't a tragedy, any of Roy Jones' latter fights. Roy being Superman was a constant of my youth. When Roy started losing, I knew I was getting on.

there are 2 types of painful.

    Ali-Holmes and then De Leon-Nelson.

    Both types are painful.

As a huge fan of Joe Frazier I've always found his first fight with Big George difficult
    to watch.
I'm also a fan of Foreman but that fight has caused Joe to be badly underrated.

It doesn't get much worse (at least without a tragedy) than the great Julio Cesar Chavez losing to Grover ****ing Wiley.

Gatti/Gamache because of the obvious weight advantage.
