He did show alot of heart in there tonight he got rocked early and his balance and coordination was shot after that. But he never gave up and even briefly looked like he could pull off a miracle in the 5th round. I know alot of people call AJ a quitter but i've never understand that personally....yes Joshua's personality is totally cringe i agree. But i'll give him credit for not giving up and atleast trying to turn around a hopeless situation.
AJ looked just like he did vs Ruiz when people say he quit. I don't think he quit. He's literally seeing stars and is out of it.
That was a monster shot for the first knockdown and nobody can say that Joshua did not do brilliant to get up from it,no doubt the bell ringing played its part otherwise that in all likelihood would have been a first round stoppage loss .
AJ should just retire. He has made his money, more than I'm sure he ever dreamed of, what is the point of going on?. Why take punches like that when you are set for life? Call it a day AJ
Yeah he showed a lot of heart and when it looked like he was going to be stopped instead of trying to just survive or quit he decided to go out on his shield and went out throwing bombs. But he seems to have picked up a bad habit again of sitting down and not moving after he throws, every time he did that, Dubois clocked him with a hard shot and that's exactly what happened with the KO. Lands a bomb, follows up but after throwing is still there to be hit by the counter and gets KO'ed.
Yes i agree i even made the comparison in the RBR thread it was a very similar situation. Joshua got caught early and never recovered from the 1st knockdown in both fights and had no legs after that. Joshua got knocked down 4 times by Ruiz and took a beating for 4 rounds so it's always puzzled me why people call Joshua a quitter based on that. I mean i don't like the guy as i said he's personality is totally cringe but i wouldn't associate the word quitter with Joshua.
Yeah he's not a quitter but I don't particularly care for the whole pity praise for fighters fighting on. He got beat up badly, there's no real positives to take from that in my opinion. You're a boxer, not quitting is kind of minimum expectations of you.
Actually he was about to finish off Dubois in round 5, but acted careless. It was an embarrassing KO in front of all those people. He lost much of his fan base.
Actually agree. If that bomb had landed thirty seconds earlier the fight would never have got out the first round.
AJ's chin is so bad he can't actually quit because he's like a piece of jelly who doesn't know where he is. He would have put his hands up in the first Ruiz fight and would have been able to get chinned over again if his brain wasn't fried by KFC Ruiz.
Because he has a ridiculous ego. He has a really fragile ego too. Just look at his meltdown after Usyk fight. It’s clearly not just about money for him, he genuinely wanted to be a great fighter and leave a champion legacy. His ego is so big that he’ll push for the rematch and convince himself he can win. Why do you think he just kept switching trainers?
He just couldn't get a handle on the fight. DD put it on him and was relentless. DD was much more relaxed and wasn't effected by the magnitude of the event. AJ appeared very nervous before and during the fight
I'll give your guy some credit Miniq even though i dislike Fury he is good in a crisis in regards to recovering when he's hurt that's probably one of his best assests. Joshua does have that Frank Bruno habit where he looks like a deer in the headlights when he gets hurt. Although i don't think Joshua was quite as bad as Bruno though.
Fury getting up is the story of his career and what he will be remembered for. To level up with Usyk would be befitting for his retirement..
