Sometimes on forums a comment is posted that comes back to haunt the poster, this being one of those classic moments !
Don't know how to do that nor do I care to learn. Bet $400 (not really the mortgage)... Won $1680. Dubois was young when he lost and had really grown over his last two fights. I saw a new fighter against Hrgovic. Meanwhile, AJ has never been a true fighter, more an underwear model who boxes on the side. I called this one out the day it was made.
Yeah I didn't think you had done that lol. I just wanted to see a betslip assuming you had put your money where your mouth was.
@Zakman I ask you again, but now it's a 2-parter. How would you have rated both BEFORE the fight? And how would you rate both NOW?
The messages in this thread is so embarassing that at this point dubois has no jaw anymore. you can't hit glass when there is no jaw.
His chin definitely looks better than I initially thought. The right hand he took off Joshua was very similar to the one that flattened Ngannou and he took it and still had the cognition there to counter back and flatten AJ. The Lerena knockdown was misleading he walked into a counter left hook early when your more susceptible to being dropped. The fact it was against a former cruiserweight too, looked bad. But he took a ton of shots off Hrgovic and took a bomb off AJ that many wouldn't take as well. So it's clear his chin is decent, not granite but he can take a punch. Helps how he's learned to move his head a little, the 2nd right hand Joshua landed before he was KO'ed, Dubois rolled with to load up the right hand and then KO'ed him.
Dubois was wobbled by a right hand from one of the biggest punchers in the division, never off his feet, never stunned to the point of being helpless, just stung by a punch that woukd have felled most... and still had enough guile to figure out how to bring the curtain down. How is that a bad chin?
Only clean punch of the fight had him hurt and he's been dropped and/or stopped by CW in multiple fights. People have short memories. When he gets stopped again and the flavor of the month hype around him stops people will come back to earth and accept that Dubois is vulnerable chinny bodybuilder himself.
Dubois does indeed seem awkward frequently, and yet pulls it out (more often than not defying expectations). In this regard he reminds me of Michael Spinks (pre-Tyson of course).
