Put a little respect on the man's name He lacked longevity, due to his decline and prison sentence However, he would have absolutely obliterated both those guys last night, especially Joshua I'm also extremely confident he would beat Fury and Usyk I don't expect many to agree, as we all know casuals overrate him and boxing fans think it's cool to s..t on him I watched his career, he was WAY better than what we are witnessing now I'm 100% confident a rooney trained Mike beats every cruiser/heavy now Fighters have got bigger, not better. Chisora still hanging around the top 10 says it all. Not a fighter alive today beats a young tyson, or Lewis for that matter
5'11, 215 lbs in his prime. he would be KOed by a jab from either fighter. the era has moved on. boomers need to stop being delusional about the past. there are plenty of 5'11 people in the entire world, which one has held a belt since tyson? a lot more 5'11 and under fighters than 6'0 and above fighters. Tyson lost to every good big man he faced.
Prime Tyson beats both fellas from last night. His chin was rock solid, so even in a fire fight, both would fold before him. Usyk and Fury though, I really doubt it.
Agreed. Tyson etc used to spend a lot of their training sparring opponents without restrictions. They we,re battle hardened. Learned how to fight by fighting. Nowadays with having a bit more knowledge the fighters spar a lot less. Its a good thing but their becoming less battle hardened less well rounded fighters as a result of it. I dont think these guys would stand a chance against peak tyson. I m not sure they,d beat some of the guys tyson was knocking out. Tyson was pretty much training like a hardened professional from about 14 years old. His whole life was dedicated to boxing day in day out. Not like nowadays when they go off on holiday for 3 months till 8 weeks before a fight.
I think Tyson probably beats both AJ and Dubois but let’s not make out that Tyson was any sort of granite chinned freak. His chin was very good but if Buster Douglas had no issue cracking it then DD certainly can. The question for me is whether DD’s chin gets cracked first.
ironic because Tyson is the casual's ATG. in reality, he is the biggest hype job in boxing history. don't get butthurt now
Overrated yes hypejob no, your opinion is completely asinine, Tyson had a solid resume and beat plenty of ranked fighters/champs. He reach undisputed at a point
I think if you lined up Usyk Joshua and Fury on the same night and gave him a 10 minute tea break between fights… he’d lay all 3 of them out. No reason to think Joshua and Usyk would last more than a round or 2. Fury could see being like the Holmes fight with an overhand clipping him. He’s levels above them all historically. Proof is in the pudding with his excellent resume and unmatched title reign in terms of dominance.
Tyson is the definition of the term hype job. this is why grown low IQ men to this day think a 5'11 215 lb fighter can contend with these 6'5 230+ lb beasts. especially one that fights aggressively. lol
You mean that behemoth anthony joshua who got smoked by a obese 6 foot cruiserweight ? Yeah he's too big for Tyson lol Bruno and Golota who Tyson smoked was weighing about as much as Dubois does in his fights, but according to you Mike can't beat Dubois when he's beaten multiple 6'5 heavyweights, and multiple heavyweights who can punch like Dubois ? the ignorance is apparent. Don't even compare these guys to Lewis either
Mike never changed his fighting style and mentality ie come forward pressure fighting regardless of his losses. People under estimate the mental toughness and character needed to continue fighting successfully after losses
6'2 250 lb Andy Ruiz would KO 5'11 214 lb Tyson with quick fluid combos. It wouldn't be close. He would look like the juggernaut walking Tyson down and brutally stopping him mid rounds. Tyson's punching power is also overrated. Ruiz's chin is proven against 6'5 250 lb monsters in today's era.
