IMO he gets up if the ref starts counting but no one really knows...

It was a definite low blow though.

We all know Dubious is now the greatest HW on the planet after beating a post-prime 35 year-old AJ.
Not too long ago he was getting stopped by journeyman Joyce and a Usyk jab.

Usyk definitely would have continued if he had to. The question is could Dubious finish Usyk in that situation? With Usyk's experience, skill and speed it's likely Usyk would weather that storm. Just look at Fury and how many times he's been hurt now and got through it with skill and experience. It's not so easy to finish these crafty and tough fighters. Not everyone is AJ.

But Usyk isn't invincible either and I thought that was a risky 'stay busy' fight at the time and it almost got nasty for him. If Usyk keeps fighting at a size disadvantage and needs to beat everyone on attrition, heading towards 40, he could get himself stopped at some point. If he beats Fury he should retire. It's obvious now he's clearly privileged in Ukraine (gets not only to box but to travel and go to entertainment events and plan movie/wwe appearances while a war is waging) and would at worst go on morale tours there, not having to go to the frontline.

One judge had Dubois ahead by 5 points the 2nd judge had Dubois ahead by 1 point but the 3rd judge had Joyce ahead by 3 points. So Dubois didn't lead on all the judges scorecards and the decision was still in doubt.

But I agree people were too harsh on Dubois quitting with a legit eye injury which could've ended his career. And infact all these keyboard warriors who fault him for it more fool them because he's comeback with a vengeance and reaping the rewards now.

Wow... any judge that didn't have Dubois ahead handily deserves the sack... regardless he had 4 broken bones in the face.

Was not even close to borderline from my initial viewing, soon as it happened I thought it was very low.

But yeah I do think the ref showed some bias during the fight and kept Joshua in there.

Usyk did the exact same garbage against AJ.

instead of being a man and continue fighting, he HIMSELF decided to call the time out and the ref just agreed.

every time I watch him fight now, I just wonder if he will call time out.

Not a chance he got up before the count, bad call from the ref saved him that night. I'd like to see Dubois get a shot at the winner of Usyk Fury 2.

    1. The ref instantly ruled it low, so it's moot, but I think Usyk would have - by hook or by crook got up by 10 - whether that meant Dubois might have been able to finish the job is an entirely different question and I have no idea.
    2. This wasn't an isolated low blow, Dubois had been doing it all night, and should have had a point deducted
    3. Usyk actually wears his trunks at the correct level - just compare to Fury and others that have their shorts up to their armpit.

It really wasn't much of a controversy to me, it was clearly low, the ref ruled it as such instantly, and later ruling verified the call.

Doesn't really matter if he could or couldn't get up, he didn't have to

    No, he was done
Every fighter has a black mark and this is his

Floyd never beat Castillo first time and Dubois knocked out Usyk

I may be in the minority regarding the body shot but I'm not the only one, far from it

DDD has now beaten 2 of the top 3
