If there's any justice, and there seems to be a bit more merit based fights under this Saudi controlled era of boxing, Joseph Parker vs Dubois is the next fight to make. Joseph Parker has revived his career and is actually on the best former he's ever been on with 2 wins over 2 of the biggest punchers in the division in Wilder and imo the biggest puncher in Zhang. Dubois has established himself as one of the best in the world, a legitimate belt holder and probably a close 2nd hardest puncher after Zhang but who knows because he still seems to be improving in every fight. This fight should happen next early next year and the winner gets a shot at the winner of Fury vs Usyk 2. I still can't fully predict who will win but I'm leaning towards Dubois at the moment.
Have it on the undercard of Usyk-Fury. Of course, if Fury wins, there has to be a rubber, but he won't, and when Usyk wins, he can fight the winner.
Interesting fight, Parker has shown he can diffuse big hitters in Zhang and Wilder but Dubois unlike those two comes right and you and throws in volume looking to exchange rather than cautiously pick single shots to take you out. Could be a tough fight for Parker, but he's defensively better than Hrgovic and Joshua who have little to no head movement unlike Parker. Can't pick a winner right now, I can see a case for both fighters. Parker has been inactive for a while now though, so might lean to DDD right now just because he'll be sharper at the moment.
Fair points. If Dubios can maintain consistent pressure he should be able to take it. My main worry is Parker coming in too heavy and gassing out allowing Dubios to land a barrage leading to knockdowns or even a TKO. Parker would need to work on his jab and timing counters, following the blueprint Joyce and Usyk have presented. Parkers weaknesses is consistent pressure, Dubios is the jab.
Parker is on a great run for sure and deserves a shot but I think Dubois knocks him out. Dubois has a solid work rate along with great power and his ramrod jab will cause Parker major problems. Btw if Parker is actually serious about coming in at 260 lbs in his next fight, I don't see that going well for him at all. Who advised him to do that? Lol
Parker as WBO interim is next in line for a shot at Usyk, though. Once Usyk dropped the IBF, WBO was next up. Dubois isn't a bad fight, but I would go after the champion if I was him.
Saw a clip of Usyk saying he wants time off after Fury to go skiing and spend time with family. He'll likely drop the belts anyway which will be interesting.
On paper I think Parker should be slightly favoured, but my gut feeling is that Dubois finds a way to win a close decision.
Wilder was shot, Zhang’s whole reputation is build around two wins over one opponent. Dubois streak is certainly no less impressive then Parker’s. I will pick Dubois to win.
The old slogan "Styles make fights" will always be true. Parker would likely beat Dubois but wouldn't be surprised if he got clipped and KO'd too.
I think this a great fight, I hope they make it! Hard fight to predict, 50/50 but I might be a little biased because I used to train with Parker and like him a lot.
Gotta love Parker, man has no fear, Wilder, Zhang and now he wants Dubois, he's fighting all the big punchers.
