Will we finally see AJ vs Wilder now?

Wilder is way more cooked than AJ, who can at least pull the trigger a litte bit.

 

More than 1/3 of the votes for the about to turn 39 and absolutely shot Wilder to win. That is some reaction to Dubois demolition of Joshua.

 

I would slightly favour Joshua, even though he was terrible vs Dubois he could still jab a bit and throw some damaging punches. Last two fights Wilder hasn't shown any ability to throw anything with mean intentions. That being said, boxing is a funny game and two shot fighters vs each other can never be far from a 50-50...

 

Wilders missile punch is a lot slower and telegraphed now. The speed and timing is gone. Even slow plodders can see it coming from a mile away now.

I would say Wilder is more faded than AJ, he is 5 years older as well now. Father time waits for no one.

I would still like to see the fight for historical purposes

 

Joshua stands around with his left hand low and retracts his head straight back now too.

Wilder might be 39 and shot but he isn't completely without a chance against this shadow of what Joshua once was.

 

Again it's all about styles, can see Wilder blitzing AJ early. The intimidation factor would be in play and AJ would be nervous and hesitant, Wilder not so much with nothing to lose.

 

It could actually turn out to be a complete 'dud'.
Gun-shy Joshua scared to engage, sticking out a jab at a time and an occassional grab. Wilder walking backwards intent on landing his one big KO counter-punch but completely unable to pull the trigger.

 

Make it happen- either Vegas, MSG or england. I dont care how far these guys have slipped. I want to see them swing al Night.

 

AJ exposed? Or is he just getting older and can't take the punches/pressure like he used to? There's only a handful of 35 year old, world class athletes moving around and performing like they did at 30.

His most recent loss didn't reveal anything new about him that those who have followed his career, didn't already see in him in previous fights.

Wilder honestly shouldn't be in the ring vs any world class fight again. You are talking about a 38 year old man who didn't respect the sport enough to learn how to actually box until his 44th fight. A man who prided himself on his own quote...."they have to be perfect for 12 rounds, I just have to be perfect for a second" in reference to his "club punch" he depended heavily on throughout his career.

Truthfully, I'm not interested in very many heavyweight match ups. Definitely not a Wilder vs anyone in the top 10/15. I wouldn't mind finally seeing an AJ vs Fury, but who knows what Fury still has in the tank. What we need is these young HWs to step into the light and be stars. The biggest names in the division are all elder statesmen. Including Usyk who's what....37/38 years old......

 

He never faced anyone like Dubois before. He never could take the power/pressure from someone like that. He's not young any more, true. But there's no evidence that he'd have ever withstood Dubois.

 

Seriously the age argument is not valid in AJ case. Especially that everyone was saying that he was extremely sharp against Ngannou and Walking, had a perfect game plan, beautiful technique...
What happened against Dubois is no different than what happened with Ruiz, except that Dubois had this exact gameplayn

 

Everyone saying AJ is now shot when pre Dubois 80% of this forum were saying they’d favour him against Usyk 3 lol

 

Honestly I would have wanted to watch Wilder of Breaseale v Joshua of Klitschko. By now if the fight happens has no sense imo.

 

aj is not past his prime he only looks good against low level opposition, he was even losing most of the against old Povetkin until he gassed. He was matched well lol
