The jury is still out on this to some extent since Joshua is still active and if he won a 3rd world title and/or beat Fury it would definitely change things but as it stands.

    Amateur careers

    Joshua
Quickly rose to the top won the ABA's within 18 months of taking up the sport. Got to the final of the world's and was clearly beaten in the final. A lot of people say it was a robbery when they haven't seen it coz he was beaten in Azerbaijan by 1 point by a fighter from that country but if you watch it he was clearly beaten and nearly stopped in that fight but beat Camerelle in the quarters or semis which is impressive.

Olympics, he clearly lost by a wide margin to Erislandy Savon in his first fight. Also should have lost his rematch with Camerelle in the final and semi final could have gone either way. It's a disgrace that he got a gold medal in the Olympics.

    Khan
At 17 years old he managed to reach the Olympic final deservedly. He lost to a Cuban great Maro Kindalin. They had a rematch which Khan won but it blatantly looked fixed to me but still getting deservedly into the Olympic final is an amazing achievement at only 17.

All in all I'm going to say it's a draw for amateur achievements

    Pro Careers
    Joshua
Quickly dispatched of his first 10 or so opponents, all dad bods. Then went in with a green Dillian Whyte came through some adversity to get his hand raised.

Then beats Charles Martin to become IBF heavyweight champion in only his 16th fight. After beating a few no marks relatively speaking on the world stage gets past Joseph Parker in a unification (with a lot of help from the ref) and an over the hill Wladimir in a life or death fight. Then gets battered by a short notice Ruiz and beat him in a fairly unimpressive rematch where Ruiz was in terrible shape. After regrouping with a lackluster win over Pulev gets a boxing lesson twice from Usyk barely wins a round out of 24. Then has another regrouping phase lackluster vs Franklin and Helenius and Franklin then impressive vs Wallin and N'Gannou then destroyed by Dubois.

    Khan
Dispatched a few part timers then moved up to the domestic level and had a few scares vs Limond, Gomez and others getting dropped and or hurt but did pretty much clean up an at the time solid domestic scene including names like Thaxton etc

His first step up to the world stage he was Khan in 60 seconds against Briedis Presscott. After changing trainers and joining Roach he racked up some quality wins Barrera, Kotelnik, Maidana, Judah and Nalinaggi before leaving Roach after a controversial defeat to Peterson. He then got destroyed by Danny Garcia.

After this he went to Virgil Hunter and had some decent form with 4 quality wins in a row vs former champions Julio Diaz, Luis Collazo, Devon Alexander, Chris Algieri although he did show frailties vs Diaz and Algieri the Alexander and Collazo wins were quality. He then fought admirably moving up in weight vs Canelo boxing his head off before being caught. The rest of Khan's career after this has essentially been a cash grab.

All in all got to say right now Khan's had the better career. That might change we will see.

The short answer is definitely Khan
Joshua belongs with matt Skelton and Audley Harrison

    Joshua definitely.

I think Khan was more talented with more potential, and had more exciting fights… but it just goes to show the sum doesn’t always add up all the parts.. whether that’s related to more internal or external factors.

At least Joshua hasn’t been KOed by the wind of his opponents punches yet
    Khan was absolute garbage.

Who was Khans second best win? First is obviously Midana but after that his wins are incredibly weak, maybe Devon Alexander, no disrespect to him.
As for AJ, below Klitschko, he has Povetkin, Pulev, Whyte, Wallin, Ruiz

Can see quite a few similarities with both, great Olympic success, huge promotional deal to start careers, gifted a title against a weak champ, chin issues, never fought their main rival until late in their careers when the fight was past its sell by date (AJ still to fight Fury), both pretty protected AJ more so but let’s see how the next year pans out for him

Khan beat an ancient ATG himself.

Good bit younger than 41 as well.

Alexander did school Maidana to be fair pretty much the only fighter who beat Maidana comfortably.

Khan has.....Judah, Malignaggi, Maidana, Alexander, Collazo, not a bad list of names but I think overall Joshua has better names.

Judah, Malinaggi, Maidana, Collazo, Alexander but you are missing out Kotelnik who was a solid champion and also names like Julio Diaz. Then you add in the fact Khan cleaned out a solid domestic LW scene, the very dubious defeat to Peterson, the respectable performance vs Canelo I think Khan has dine a lot more in his career.

Wladimir had no world titles. Fury had taken all his world titles and Wlad hadn't even fought at all since losing.

Wlad hadn’t fought because fury dipped, the arranged rematch, so he fought the next best in Joshua.
Joshua has the best resume after usyk in the heavyweight division.
Also it’s worth mentioning that khan took a ban for popping hot in his last fight.
I think the only comparisons are that they have both taken heavy losses, Joshua was competitive at least on paper in most of them.
But khan’s dad was happy to throw him in with anyone and he was folded up as was expected in the fights he took with the big names, Canelo for example:
    This is not even close

The problem with most of AJ's best wins are that they are all fighters who were basically done (while he was in his prime).

Wlad retired straight away because he had nothing left and he never came back. It really was just a final fight for him. Fury fought an old Wlad too but he was two years younger and undefeated for a long time. The fact Wlad wouldn't rematch for huge money showed how done he was.

Povetkin was on his last legs quite obviously. Yes he KO'd Whyte afterwards but was almost KO'd in that fight and looked terrible.

Pulev was not only 40 but actually had Covid and couldn't pull out because he'd already pulled out before with an injury.

Outside of that you have Parker who shouldn't have been a world champion, he beat Ruiz who'd beaten nobody, for a vacant belt.

That's it. There's nothing there for a 35 year-old fighter who is supposed to be amazing. He could have fought Wilder and Fury twice each but didn't want to. He could have fought Joyce/Zhang in recent times but rejected those fights despite the fact they were old.

He was MASSIVELY protected but also chose to play it safe.
