To put it in simpler terms: Louis was 214 lbs when he fought Marciano, 17 lbs lighter than Douglas against Tyson which I rounded up to 15 lbs. Even worse, the month prior he fought Bivins at 202 lbs which means he put on 12 lbs in one month leading to the Marciano fight.
I really don’t think you and @Dynamicpuncher are in disagreement at all. There just seems to be a misunderstanding.
Yes I thought he was on about in regards to H2H ability not the weight that is my mistake I apologise @Pedro_El_Chef
Marciano is better than anyone Douglas beat, hell even Holyfield KOed him inside 3. I think over 12 rounds Marciano would grind him down and so would Frazier.
Tokyo Douglas physically outclasses Rocky. Douglas wins by decission. But Rocky is tough and will go the distance, but he wont look pretty.
This can not be a serious post. Especially when considering the one-armed mummy version of Louis that Marciano faced.
I don’t think Tyson just stood there against Douglas necessarily. Why isn’t Mike also prone to Tyson’s favoured axiom “Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth”? Buster was on him from opening bell and popping him good in said mouth. Imo, Tokyo Mike wasn’t the inherently lame duck some paint him to have been. Mike didn’t just exist in a vacuum - he did have opponents in the ring with him who put never before asked questions to him. Anyway, I’d have to go with Nippon Douglas - but, as others have said, Rocky would give it 110% for as long as it lasts. Projected outcomes notwithstanding, no one can ever take Rocky’s heart or worth ethic away from him - ATG qualities in their own right.
Or we could simply hire Cojimar to look after Buster and have them fight at cruiserweight. Buster weighed in at 231 1/2 for Tyson and still had a little flab. A couple less cakes before camp and Cojimar could easily take off his customary 29 pounds to have Douglas hit 200.
