I think that's the type of team he likes, where he's treated like a star and can do what he wants. Makes me think that's why he never lasted with Garcia or James, wouldn't have gotten any special treatment in their gyms.
Ben Davison is the only trainer I've ever seen squirt water into his own mouth between rounds. Theres something symbolic about that I think.
Robert Garcia was quite scathing of AJ afterwards in the American media. AJ is mentally fragile and won’t like home truths or even constructive criticism, that’s why he’s gone with Davison I presume. Saunders, Fury and Taylor also had half arsed camps under him.
Aj was actually putting all his boxercise ben training and philosophy into practice in the ring from what i saw. It was going the way of a typical Ben Davison fighter The art of getting your head punched in for rounds and knocking years off your own life, he really seemed to embody that part of bens teaching He just fell short with pulling the lucky haily mary shot from the gods out of the bag, which is an integral part of the davison approach Cant blame either man, if the lucky shot isnt there for a davison fighter then theres nothing else they can do Luck bares sole responsibilty for this defeat, it just didnt turn up on the night
I personally think Joshua is a very insecure athlete with a terrible boxing IQ and someone who’s now been confirmed as a flat-track bully. In defence of Davison, no trainer would’ve expected an Olympic medalist, a two time world champion and veteran of a dozen world title fights to make the amateurish errors and fight as scared as Joshua did.
The Humbleonians think he is an ATG but I and many others on here have seen from 2015; zero elite traits, the absence of dethroning a genuine World Heavyweight Champion, a padded CV or even beating any elite great fighter in his padded career. The worst era in history until Usyk arrived, a CV full of old and/or small men and still Joshua has managed to rack up 4 losses and counting. Mute Eddie Hearn, open the eyes, apply context to every fight where he was a huge Bookmaker's favourite before he faced every opponent, apply context pre fight to opponent and you see Hearn sold the public a huge pup. If the above explanation has still not convinced people then his legacy fight below is all that is needed to eradicate any links to words such ATG, elite, warrior or greatness. Back when adam smith splurged his ejaculate all over the MSG commentary booth. I will always remember malinaggi looking like hed seen the ghost of purple aki ringside
