    Esubio Pedroza defended the WBA featherweight title
    close to 20 times (Going off my memory) it was the record
    for the weight class at one time.
    Pedroza was one heck of a fighter, too bad he is generally
    overshadowed by the legendary Sal Sanchez.
    I wish they had met in the ring.....

    Considering Steve Robinson was considered a nobody at the time I've always been highly impressed how he won a title after 24 hours notice then made 7 title defenses very underrated reign no one talks about.

    Matthew Saad Muhammad's reign is probably the most entertaining reign of all time aswell every fight was a crazy life and death struggle like a Rocky movie.

    Felix Tito Trinidad 14 successful titles defenses. An uneven reign but he finished it strong and moved to 154 and kept winning title fights Reid, Thiam, Vargas to 160 William Joppy.

    Manuel Ortiz won over 20 lineal BW title fights, though that was over 2 reigns.

    Abe Attell about 20 at FW, iirc.

    Then, of course, there is Samson Dutch Boy Gym. He went 43-0 in his career, with a whopping 39 of those wins being (WBF) Super Flyweight world title fights.

    Larry Holmes had 20 title defences if you include the fight against Marvis Frazier, which was a defence of his lineal title and The Ring belt.
