We aren’t rehashing the same convos over and over again. You know who he’s faced who had skills who didn’t.

the question you always avoid is who had size that bothered Marciano? Until you can prove size was a benefit against him you really don’t have a leg to stand on. He was built to take on bigger men in every way.
    Great defense against the jab
    Closes the distance extremely well
    Controls space
    Great stamina
    Great countering
    Power in both hands
Much like Usyk is built to take on all comers so was Marciano. He was built for men like AJ. Moderately skilled big man w bad defense bad chin and no stamina.

and for the other guys Big Bill Wilson was only about an inch shorter and ten pounds lighter than AJ. Not much and Marciano made his face explode in 1. You size people need a better argument

Actually no you don't have any proof of Marciano beating any elite big men and all you do is keep rehashing the same points over and over without somehow not realising that beating journeyman big man with 50-50 record is not in the same ball park as beating an elite big man and I don't know how you somehow can't fathom that.

A guy like Mike White in the 80s/90s was 6'10 with an 85 inch reach but never made the top 10 rankings or beat any notable Heavyweight why ? Because he was simply just big and and didn't have any standout qualities apart from his size.

As I keep saying there's a world of difference just being a big and being a good big man.

As for logic ? So your logic is Marciano at 5'10 185 pounds 67 inch reach is competing with elite Super Heavyweights who are 2 and 3 weightclasses bigger ? With 50/60 pound weight advantage and 15 inch reach advantage ? How is that logical ?

Marciano was a slugger who fought out of the crouch with probably the smallest reach of all time out of any notable Heavyweight Champion in history. There's absolutely no logic that Marciano would be effective against elite Super Heavyweights other than being nostalgic.

Marciano got busted up by Light Heavyweights but yeah he's going to come out unscathed vs much larger Super Heavyweights ? That makes no logical sense.

A great defense against the jab ? A ghost version of Joe Louis had no trouble landing the jab on Marciano.

No Marciano is not built to take on bigger men like Usyk is.

Usyk is 6'3 with 76 inch reach and has weighed up to 220+ pounds. He's also a rare elite Southpaw Heavyweight with fantastic defense and some of the best footwork in Heavyweight history.

Not in remotely comparable to Marciano.

Wilson was 41-11 w like 38kos when Marciano murdered him. Not 50/50 but you do you with not providing any proof to my question as to who actually bothered Marciano with size?

And for the record everyone who beat AJ was smaller than him. Why didn’t the skilled big men he beat destroy him? Your reasoning makes no sense. None. Every big man Marciano faced he knocked out and quick. Why is this brought up as some sort of big advantage? Once again I have statistical proof that size isn’t a factor w Marciano and his style, you don’t have any that size would bother him.

as for the jab he wasn’t exactly prime for Louis but Louis did have a top three hw jab arguably. Incredibly quick accurate and snappy. Marciano had zero problem controlling that fight none. Anyone who says otherwise didn’t watch the fight. He also faced excellent jabbers in Walcott, Charles Moore and Lastarza. The jab didn’t bother him. He countered off of it often.

Wilson got a freak cut in the 1st round and the fight was stopped regardless Wilson was an unremarkable opponent.

if Marciano had fought Nino Valdez or Bob Baker who were top 10 ranked Heavyweights with considerable size over him that would've told us something. Unfortunately Marciano didn't fight either of them so we have no evidence of Marciano vs world class bigger men.

I'm not saying Marciano avoided any of them BTW but I'm just saying it would've gave us a better gauge of Marciano vs world class bigger men.

Usyk weighed over 220 pounds in both fights with Joshua and is 6'3 Southpaw.

Dubois was 248 pounds and is 6'5 and a big puncher.

Ruiz was 268 pounds yes i realize he is incredibly fat but he still has some of the quickest hands and has a very sturdy chin and is much bigger built than Marciano.

I understand the questioning. I don’t think the best big men he faced were all that great. Best prob being old Louis. But my point was the bigger men did not hinder him in the slightest. Even if they were only moderately skilled like Shkor or Wilson they should have troubled him a bit. They didn’t. I don’t think AJs massive size advantage helps in this situation. Depending on the style and type of fighter size can be an issue. Everyone was bigger than Marciano, Frazier, Langford, Tyson, Tua, they had styles suitable for big men.

I don't think we're going to agree on this because we have totally different views.

I personally don't think Marciano's style and being undersized suits him against Super Heavyweight era, i think he's much better suited to fighting guys like Bivol, Beterbiev, Breidis, and those are fights i think Marciano could definitely win.

I just don't like pitting Heavyweights from that era vs Super Heavyweights of now because they're simply too small.

I'm not saying smaller Heavyweights can't beat bigger Super Heavyweights i mean Holyfield did it as is Usyk now. But i think alot of it also depends on the styles and certain attributes of each fighter.

I just don't think Marciano's aggressive swarming style would benefit him in this era due to how small he is in comparison and his overall style of fighting but that's just my opinion.

AJ has more power than Marciano had and certainly hits harder than anyone Rocky fought, he also hits hard than Moore did.

Rewatching Joshua vs Dubois this guy's skills look absolutely horrible. I never want to hear about Anthony Joshua supposedly being some sort of skilled fighter ever again.

Would you not say that AJ has looked better previously?

Once he gets clocked good the dude definitely unravels and forgets whatever plans he might’ve had.

Robotic is a very good description for him - thrown a spanner in the robot and then all bets are off.

Yes but all those wins even at the time had a huge grain of salt. Lots of past prime old men here. Lots of fluff. We all just overlooked it because it was AJ and it was just assumed he was just that good and he was 6'6 he had big muscles how could he ever lose to anyone said all his fanboys. Every time this guy stepped up he got spanked. Badly.

Looking back now he does look like an old man abuser and a can crusher does he not?
