I would have issues if they let a non British fighter contest the Title, if its the same judges, instpectors etc then imo a ring is a ring. But I can see other side to about it being a domestic title and should be fought here.

Money has always been the defining factor when it comes to boxing, no matter the era. As it stands we are in the middle of the Saudi era and I don't disagree that it is taking things away from a possible fight at the O2 or wherever but the fact remains that this is a sport like very few others where you are in real danger of being hurt and/or killed doing what you are doing. Now tell me if you were going to work in these circumstances and you could earn 5-10 times more doing so I'm sure you wouldn't be arguing about it.

Do I like it? no, Would I prefer it was on in the UK, yes, am I happy the fighters are getting paid more, yes 100%

That's fine, but it shouldn't be sanctioned for the British title if it's not contested in Britain.

Get what your saying beale, but think footy is a bit different to boxing, people are tied to the team and community rather than the sport itself. Selfishly, as someone whod rather eat his own arsehole than spend hundreds of quid attending a fight at the 02, dont really care if its in saudi long as i watch it. But can see the implications long term.

Agree to disagree then, if its 2 British fighters sanctioned by the BBBofC with BBBofC officials thenh I don't get the problem except for people complaining they can't go and watch on home soil.

Tbh I don't want to offend fans who go watch the fights but I have been involved in running shows both amateur and professional, I've had 'boxing fans' saying if you get title fights or x boxer vs y boxer they will start coming to more shows and give support to the the boxers/shows. I put in purse bids or agree to get bigger fights on and guess what... these same guys still didn't come because it was being streamed or people they knew were going to facebook live the show...

In an ideal world of course the fighters would earn good money and box in the UK but its not an ideal world and if the criteria for the British Title has been met then I honestly couldn't care if its here or not.

Of course people are going to be bought by the sportswashing loot at the top end.

The people in the same danger or worse are the people earning peanuts fighting such as Mikey Towell a few years ago.

Had the opportunity to work in the Middle East a few years ago for a small fortune but had zero interest as I personally would not step into a country ruled by Sharia Law never mind take a penny from them.

As a boxing fan, I find it hard to swallow this sportswashing shyte including playing the Saudi anthem at Wembley, British Title Fights held in Saudi and all the anal licking towards little Turkey.

Bit like the Olympics in London, it really made no difference if it was in China for TV viewers.

And things like the Mikey Towell tragedy are the exact reasons I have have no issues with the boxers taking the money. I knew Mikey personally had boxers share a ring with him, watched him as a teenager starting off all the way to his last fight. As I said I'm not saying its right but its the era we are in presently and if the boxers can earn more for the same fights then I will not begrudge them.
