Teofimo Lopez, Ryan Garcia, Jaron Ennis, Tank Davis....... What do these names all have in common...... They have taken aim at Crawford following his milestone of becoming 2x Undisputed. It's nothing short of hilarious being the Ennis turned down 2 opportunities to face Crawford for the WBO when they were both at 147lbs. Bozy Ennis confirmed the reason he decided against the match up at the time. "Loyalty to Showtime"....Ironically Crawford was a free agent thus he could have fought on any platform. Being that he fought Avaneysan he was on Triller and fought Errol Spence Jr on SHOWTIME. Teo, Ryan, & Tank won't even fight the elites in their division but they wanted to mention Crawford's name who is at least 2 divisions above them. -Teo fought Loma and hasn't challenged himself since. -Ryan cheated his way to even beating pillow fisted Haney.....no other accomplishment there. -Tank's biggest wins is vs Old Man Gamboa, Santa Cruz who was 2 division below him, & one trick pony Ryan Garcia. None of these guys should even be mentioned with Crawford as the accolades aren't even close.
I've never been real high on Taylor. I remember many trying to match him up with Crawford due to the comparison of both becoming undisputed at 140lbs. I agree, that is a good win, but I just didn't see it as a great win. Especially being that I felt he shouldn't even of had the titles on him that night as Taylor lost that previous fight, IMO.
Josh Taylor has recently changed his name to Mark Smith. It hasn't made that much difference, unfortunately.
