Regardless of how tough the first fight was, even when they won the first fight, guys who clearly wanted to prove themselves, even when they won the first fight and maybe had better options financially, or didn’t have to have a rematch, but they did anyway because they knew it was the right thing, to prove they could deal with them better.
Joe Louis, Rocky Marciano and Muhammad Ali are some obvious ones to me.

Those three came to mid immediately. They all had memorable fights and memorable rematches.

Charley Burley and the black murderers row entirety, all of them matched against each other a ton because of how ducked they were, and by most opinions Charley was the greatest one out of all of them.

Henry Armstrong and Lou Amber's ducked that skinny Jewish kid Davey Day who sent Armstrong to the hospital and Amber's took a bad beating from Day in he last 3 rds. NBA stripped Amber's of title for ducking Day. Good posting.

Mike Tyson (surprisingly). He wanted the Douglas rematch BADLY, but didn't get it. He fought hard-hitting Ruddock 2x back-to-back, even though he already stopped him (pretty convincingly IMO) in the 1st fight.

He fought Bruno, Holyfield, & PROBABLY would have facd Lewis in a rematch. After the beating he took, in the post-fight interview, he still said in front of Lewis "I would like I rematch cos I really think I can beat you". Jim Gray was astonished. He thought Mike REALLY had gone crazy :pancarta: This doesn't sound like a guy that lacked HEART or COURAGE (as a lot of people like to say).
