Agreed, there were too many indecisive rounds & an overall indecisive outcome. It's the kind of fight that leaves both fighters' legacies in limbo instead of propelling the winner upward IMO.

1st thing that came to mind when the decision was announced.

 

By the way were there any highlights shown from Beterbiev between rounds? Even in dominant Beterbiev rounds the only thing they'd show was a flurry from Bivol

 

Beterbiev is used to his opponents leaving the ring on a stretched. Bivol was just happy he wasn't going to hospital and artur just was confused as he probably doesn't know what happens when a fight goes past 12 rounds.

 

Bivol had moments in the fight , but was basically on the back foot for most of the fight .. Beterbiev was pressing for most of the fight ..

Bivol is excellent defensively. Distasteful result akin to Alvarez 7-5 though at that point boxers like Usyk having to literally clown the opposition to get a fair shake is a standard. Beterbiev victory possible to score, but you just know Bivol would not be getting a fair shake bar a 114-114 to keep the possible trilogy alive.

At least it's a relatively harmless payday because Bivol absolutely clowned him defensively, with one caveat being that having an excellent guard is an effective defense for the judges only of you are the A-side of A+ side like Canelo. Otherwise it's being the victim of an effective aggression.

And before the threads pop up—every 175 great from Ezzard Charles and Archie Moore to Tunney, Conn, and Spinks box Beterbiev silly or stops him.

The ring looked small as hell. All the brawlers won tonight. Close fight Draw or 113 115 Bivol imo.

 

I think he was tired. Not sure he could have mustered more activity.

 

What did the press score it? What did the vast amount of boxing fans and journalists think? What was the consensus among the media and the people?

 

lol, AB is 3 months away from being a whole middle aged man. And still Bivol couldn't even put a dent in him. Landed his absolute best shot and AB just walked right through it.
