Beterbiev himself said that his team always say to go for a KO if fight is going past 8 rounds.

but he didnt, though. thats why bivol finished the fight with many like myself feeling he was robbed. he was not able to get past the ear muffs to land the kill shots. biev couldnt pull the stoppage against an elite fighter who was outboxing him.

He was damaged to the point where Bivol was in constant retreat and he was getting beaten up. It's obvious who was causing the most damage.

I had it 9-3 Beterbiev giving him all the close rounds, you can't run and cower away for 12 rounds and expect to win, when Bivol let the hands go he had Beterbiev majorly out skilled, just wasn't often enough.

I think a lot of the scoring criteria was basically even or minor advantages for Bivol or Beterbiev. I have seen judges straight up say they go for the guy who is making the fight. It doesn't mean the one who isn't can't win. They definitely can. But when things are relatively even, that's when that point really kicks in. I think that's what the scoring came down to. Bivol was the least inactive I've seen him. Throwing 423 punches is uncharacteristic of him. Maybe in a rematch he feels he could do more considering he went the distance. He withstood what others couldn't. He showed a lot of heart and toughness in there. I also wonder if age or inactivity played a role in Beterbiev's performance. He didn't look like himself until late in the fight. Maybe that had to do with Bivol or maybe it was the layoff.

So what are you arguing about? My original comment was responding to someone who said he was doing clean effective punching. I didn't agree with that but it doesn't mean I thought his punching did zero damage. Yeah, he's a professional boxer who hits very hard. He marked up his opponent by landing on his high guard? So what? That's never been considered clean effective punching.

    OK.

If that's the case, banded, there must be a rule on scoring that I was unaware of.

    Taking a different scenario then....

Same as my last example, except this time, the glove-shot forces the guy to open a cut over his own eye with his own glove. It's a bad cut and the doctor asks the ref to stop the fight. It's round 9.

    Does the TKO stand ?

Damn, did know that "running" was a scoring criteria. It´s almost as if people like you make up your own rules based on your preferences.

So who would you give a round ? someone who is active, agressive for 2.5 minutes, punching everything including body gloves, arms or someone who is on his bicycle lands clean jab for 30 seconds ?

Lets state the obvious, guys. Had beterbiev been jew, he would have lost this fight. Plain and simple. The reason why beterbiev won this fight has nothing to do with boxing.
