Whilst I don't completely disagree, one could argue that Beterbiev controlled the last 3 rounds - arguably the longest and most important stretch of the fight with one fighter being more dominant than the other

It’s risk versus reward here jai has serious talent but he hasn’t beat anyone of the elite level yet, so ages is against him and the reward will be minimal and the credit to

Depends on what you mean by effective.

Bivol's punches were more accurate, crisper and looked better from a strictly technical viewpoint.

But I think Beterbiev's punches put more hurt on Bivol than vice versa.

And why some fan would want this now when he is 40 years old. Opetaia is a real monster at cruiser. Power, fast, and accurate hands.

If I was AB I'd crush about 4 or 5 cans and make another 5 easy mandatory defenses and jack up my title fight wins and retire.

And yet, Bivol was in near survival mode throughout the championship rounds.

Maybe they should go back to 15 rounds, even if it's only for unification fights.

    What
removed his power? I don’t think anyone else makes Beterbiev look like that, I even think that if Beterbiev had caught Bivol flush with one of his overhand rights he would have dropped him. Bivol was just too disciplined

Either that or Usyk legacy fight. Don't care for anything else currently. He completed his division against the odds.

Some people on this forum are incredibly naive. There is no question that Bivol was a better boxer tonight.

The judges cooked the decision for several reasons. One, this is least likely outcome so maximum profit for people who are in on the fix. Second, now Beterbiev retires and belts get fractured again - maximum profit for promoters and governing bodies.

AB looked old for the first time tonight. Ran out of gas midway through the fight and had to take some rounds off. That wasn't the same guy. Which makes sense because he's 40 freaking years old. I wouldn't give Bivol a rematch. He aged AB out on purpose and then AB still beat him anyways.
