I understand that but Artur is a devout Muslim fighting in the birthplace of Islam. I agree that Saudi Arabia is cosmopolitan and I'm not suggesting there is an inherent bias towards the muslim fighter, but on the other hand it was something to consider when we try to wrap our minds around why he won the decision. So to be clear, I'm not claiming he won because he was Muslim but it's something that I'm sure crossed all our minds given that most people expected Bivol to get the decision.

Everybody, including Artur and his corner knew they lost. Bivol was effective with his combos while Artur was busy with catching a beating.

Artur's corner told him he needed a KO to win the fight in round 10.

This decision was made up by corrupt judges.

Belts and judges are controlled by promoters and alphabet bodies not by fans and former boxers or trainers.

    Consistently.
His punches, regardless of where they landed (or when) hurt Bivol more than Bivol's hurt Beterbiev.

It's great that we have you to explain how we should score fights.
Where would we be without your vast expertise in scoring rounds and adding up scores.

Did you say you knew something about scoring ?

All three judges ( and everybody else) scored the last two rounds for Beterbiev.

If they had scored those two rounds for Bivol, he would have won the fight

So, is it your scoring that's weak, or could it be your mathematics ?

On paper, but the consensus view seems to be that more fans thought Bivol won. So there's that.

Have they done a heat map of boxer positions during the fight? Bivol was running a lot and did not stand in the centre for most of the fight.

Yeah I don’t have any problems with that but compubox isn’t worth shite, I don’t put any value in that system.

In some ways it was a bit Usyk Fury ish.. i felt Bivol won the first half but AB came on stronger in the second.. difference is Usyk hurt Fury bad whereas Beterbiev (although all over him) couldn't land a telling enough blow .. because Bivol is just too good & they are very evenly matched. All in all i enjoyed the boxing, these are the fights boxing needs.. the cringe hip hop concerts are awful tho, dunno what that was about & the atmospheres are terrible too but the fight itself was a purists wet dream.. Beterbiev has just cemented his ATG status, whether u thought he won or lost it was close & to do that at 40 was exceptional. Bivol will come again. Great fighter also.

Beterbiev also said that his corner say he needs a KO during every fight.

A question for everyone, it was clear that bivol completely took round ten off, and threw practically nothing. Beterbiev was the only one who did anything in that round.
Is that enough to give him a 10-8, he didn’t dominate bivol in terms of damage but bivol did nothing at all.
Serious question, so is that enough and did anyone give him a 10-8

There was a lot of backward and side to side movement from Bivol. I wouldn't call it running, but he definitely was consistently moving away from AB throughout. That perhaps played into the minds of the judges, and certainly could be used to score close rounds to AB based on Ring Generalship and Effective Aggression, especially with so much few clean punching from either fighter.

The one knock of Bivol is his body language at times doesn't instill confidence. He's a great counter puncher, has great footwork, he has great boxing, and a lot of good attributes. But lets put it this way, Bivol at times doesn't make it all flow together effortlessly in that way that he would need to, to clearly come across as though he's in total control, i.e. ring generalship. And I think that was the difference tonight.

Bivol was hurt in 11, he hid it well. He was also grabbing arms and pushing Beterbiev's head down to avoid engaging during the last 2-3 rounds in particular.
