Exactly how I had it,after the ninth round I had Bivol up 5-4 but then Beterbiev took the last three rounds convincingly to win it 7-5 . Yes I agree there were a lot of close rounds but Beterbiev won it down the stretch with a come from behind win .
8-4 AB is ridiculous 8-4 Bivol is reasonable Draw is kind to AB. 7-5 Bivol is fine imo Bivol did exactly what he had to, we all saw that. He then took off the 11th and gave it to AB. It's one round. Even so, it wasn't like he was landing head snapping shots- Bivol just took it off and shelled up. Repeat: the best AB round was when Bivol shelled up and took a couple of body shots and the rest on the glove. The story of the fight does not go to AB, ever imo.
This thread tells a story. IB's prediction thread had it 60%- 40% AB to win. This thread says the ESB pundits have it 45%-35% Bivol won the fight. Says something about impartiality. I suspect boxrec would have it Bivol too. The feeling was Bivol, which counts for something. The event was won by Bivol imo.
I hear they are having problems putting together highlights video - Bivol landed most of the clean punches and it ends up looking like one-sided beatdown.
But sho which rounds he won? It wasnt that lopsided. It was a could go either way type fight. I also blame the commentary for hyping up everything bivol threw and actling liks he was schooling him. I had bivol up 5-4 after 9. Could see 6-3 even but in my and most peoples opinion beterbiev took the last 3 rounds. Last one was closer but still a beterbiev round. Thats why we get the 7-5 either way or a draw would be fair narrative despite pwople screaming robbery, which it wasnt.
I saw a clear Bivol win and it's the age old it's what you like debate. Draw isn't totally unreasonable imo but for me it's the best AB could hope for, after one watch. It's subjective at the end of the day.
Yeah im in the Hagler camp on this side of the argument. I would still like to know which rounds you scored for Bivol though. You mist hsve had it him up like 7-2 after 9 then or 6-3 and thiught he won the 12th?
Close fight with many close rounds and some of those rounds came down to what you like personally, front foot pressure over movement and counters, scoring that fight wasn't easy. Bivols counters were eye catching but he wasn't landing all his shots and he was on the back foot for the majority of the round. Does 2 flurries win a round when your on the back foot. No robbery, either could have won or even a draw wouldn't have been bad.
thought the fight was Bivol’s to lose going into the 11th round…then he caught the Loma disease I felt 6-6 was the most reasonable score, but nobody likes a draw in a megafight do they? unless they’re Canelo

I haven’t seen it yet but have read a few comments describing Bivol as having “run” and that you don’t win fights that way. What, did people really expect Bivol to disadvantage himself by fighting Beterbiev’s fight? If you’re moving and not getting hit you’re not losing anything. Ultimately it’s a combination of who landed the most punches with punch quality duly factored in also
