Fight ends the way it begins; Charunphak on the back foot potshotting, creating the impression that Akui's more frequent (and more frequently landing) punches were having the greater effect. Why Charunphak abandoned the body attack when that was where he had his best success I'll never understand, unless Akui's shots were hurting him more than even I thought.

Good performance from both men, but especially from Akui considering how strong he closed the fight after the 9th and 10th rounds didn´t really go his way.

I agree. I have a very hard time finding seven rounds you could legitimately give to Charunphak.

 

Seven? I couldn't find five. Even from the four one was a pity round.

 

To be more precise, he got so wasted to the point where he went into a parkinglot of a different mansion and saw a car parked and basically broke it enough to get scrapped. It also didn't help that the incident happened when Japan was in their heaviest COVID restriction time. In a time where the whole society was promoting being wary and careful and keeping back on needless outgoing, the fact that a professional athlete and world champion caused this had a bad lasting taste.

For the record, he paid his dues and got his punishment back then and I personally don't think he's an evil dude or anything but the combination of strikes he caught on a few devoted haters which can't be helped, and those are the loudest guys on twitter.

And I think we should take drunk driving more seriously. In my country when you get caught drunk driving, there is a little loophole where if you attend a "class" and pay a fine then you don´t get "drunk driving" on your record.
I know a police officer who said that it´s a big, big problem because some guys have been caught for the 3rd time in just a few years and yet their records are clean and the punishments are just hours spent in the class and dealing with the fine/police.

Eddy Reynoso is the trainer for Rosales, even Canelo is in attendance for this fight. An upset is certainly possible, Rosales looked in great shape for this fight. Japan has been a great place for Cristofer, unlike the UK.

We all know the previous title holder was Martinez. Interesting to see team Canelo/Reynoso try to monopolize the title should Rosales come out victorious against the Amazing Boy.
