But also showboating is a dangerous game because if you lose once it could very well be what you’re known for.

Boxxer has really taken boxing backwards on sky,mostly awful shows, wasted decent budgets on bang average fighters and the actual TV shows look awful production wise.

The actual paying public have voted with their feet, poorly attended.

 

I do think he was genuinely injured but he needs to develop a style that suits his strengths. He’s got a good jab but doesn’t utilize it properly.

Not much power and his head movement is pretty lacking. He should go to Shane McGuigan who is big on head movement. Josh Taylor’s biggest weakness was always his lack of head movement and McGuigan helped him develop a style that masked it. CBS has pretty poor head movement too and he’s done alright.

With CBS you have a guy who's capable of taking huge shots and returning fire. To do that you also have to be in great condition, Whittaker last night he was physically struggling.

I don't think Shane McGuigan would be happy with the showboating, to thrive under a trainer like him you have to go into fights with complete trainer/fighter trust. I suspect that in itself would be an issue at some point.

 

For me the story is Liam Cameron. The poor bugger got a 4 year ban for cocaine while Nepo babies like Conor Benn do hardly any time for actual PEDs. Liam was an alcoholic and was over 20 stone. To come back from all that to have your big moment in the sun stolen by a hype job like Whittaker and the judges must be heart breaking. Cameron is a guy it's impossible to dislike. Hopefully the Sheikh tells Shalom it's a rematch with Liam Cameron or nothing when they talk Whittaker's next fight.

 

Next year why not now. His European champ smith is british champ. If Azim that good why pulll out of the purse bid and the fight. Also smith sells out an arena. Azim topped wolves civic with Denny selling all the tickets for his European title fight.

He held the higher regarded belt so why push for that title. ( easy chance to pick a highly regarded title he took that fight so it bypassed british title what smith held.) They pulled out put its pretty simple. Smith was mandatory for his title. If his that good he defends his title. I'm not saying he doesn't beat smith. But the first defence of his title he vacated. To fight lesser opposition and didn't even have the fight agreed. They look like fools.

 

He's big on head movement but Taylor or cbs didn't move there head.
If he was that big on it then his fighters and in particular cbs who he's had since the beginning, they should be moving their head.
