A billionaire who demands everyone call him "his excellency" claims that he didn't agree with the judging in a fight that took place in his living room. People will actually believe this. He's developing the skills of a promoter rapidly.

Beterbiev, especially if the same location, hence same preference. Which is quite good actually, to favor the aggressor, resulting to less boring fights in the future. ONE Championship has been favoring action and excitement for many, many years already, hence their different rules, so if you read some comments they mistakenly thought the lay-and-pray guy should have won since they were basing from their UFC familiarity.

Perhaps Bivol shouldn't take an immediate rematch, would only damage his face/skin even more, win or lose. After that experience/data, Beterbiev would be more fierce next time around. No shame in losing to him. Bivol already lost his O and to him anyway, maybe have a long rest and have intermediate fights and let Beterbiev age some more.

Or if with the great money involved, just fight "scared" and "run" or pretend to fight as such who came not to win at all and only for the paycheck. Probe if it would be the same Beterbiev, and don't give him the satisfaction of a stoppage win. Could also mess up Beterbiev's game plan, maybe even tire him and make him sloppy, and Bivol could land a game changing counter.

In fairness he has said in interviews that he doesn't even like being called His excellency. He said he prefers being called Turki.

Beterbiev was dominant and was looking fresher in the later rounds. That's all you need to know about who will have the edge in the rematch.

I still can't believe nobody gives credit to Beterbiev for being in that shape at the age of 40. He is a beast

I think Bivol is the smarter boxer and so will benefit more from having fought Beterbiev already. Also Beterbiev will be 40 by the time the rematch happens. Can't help but feel Bivol will have a significant edge

It's interesting to me because Bivol used more lateral movement than he ever had before in this fight. IMO he got tired late. Bivol says he needs to throw AND move more. I don't think both are possible. It has to be one or the other. But if he throws more, that leaves more opportunities for Beterbiev. If he moves more then he runs the risk of not being active enough and gassing again late. He's gotta find the right balance.

On Beterbiev's side, how much did the knee injury play a role? He struggled cutting Bivol off. He struggled landing on Bivol's high guard. Was this due to Bivol or is he getting old? IMO Beterbiev did not look like himself until the second half of the fight. Maybe being in the ring with Bivol will help him fight with more urgency the next time around.

If I had to pick a side, I would lean towards Beterbiev. The reason is I don't think Bivol can move laterally and not eventually gas. I think not only the physical pressure of Beterbiev but the mental pressure will play a role in that. I think it's a much more difficult game plan for Bivol to win than Beterbiev. Bivol needs to box and move all night without getting tired while at the same time doing enough to keep Beterbiev off of him and win rounds. Extremely difficult task.

With BRBV’s knee being more fully healed in 6 months’ time, he should have a distinct advantage. I favor him for the win in the rematch.

I agree with the Beterbiev knee topic. But Bivol had his own issues dealing with an evil ex wife.

I had Beterbiev winning and I think he will again.

The thing with Beterbiev is that he throws his punches extremely short. And with his power even when he throws at 50% it’s still doing real damage. Bivol on the other hand has to put everything into it to hit hard. And when watching the fight you can tell when he is trying to punch hard. But I think people mistake effort for effectiveness.

He was not talking to his kids in the past two months, by his trainers advice. I don't care about ex wife, but you can't abondoned kids. Especially at their age.

I just watched the fight in full and scored it two points in favour of Beterbiev.

Bivol took some decent physical punishment in that contest which he will carry around with him the rest of his career in my opinion, whilst Beterbiev didn't seem to wilt for a moment. Even when Beterbiev seemed to let Bivol unload it seemed like he was just giving Bivol the opportunity to tire with no real concern of getting hurt.

A Beterbiev victory in more convincing fashion if a rematch occurs.

Bivol didn't have another round in him, another round and Beterbiev would have knocked him out.

If Beterbiev can get going earlier I don't fancy Bivols chances.

But, it was very close, and if Bivol can somehow keep Beterbiev off and perform in the later rounds, well he could take it.

What's it called when you don't talk to your kids for 2 months ? I understand why he don't want to talk to ex wife and I don't care, but what does kids do to him ?
