Whittaker dared to be different - too different for my liking - and was always going to cop buckets of criticism the second he failed.
Seriously, amatuer boxing is completely different tyhan pro boxing, it`s just three rounds, changes the entire pace and structure of the whole fight, no time for feeling an opponent out for a couple of rounds etc, look how many elite pros are slow starters, look how many twists and turns 12 rounders often take, what if Bivol v Beterbiev had ended after the third round?
Yet those that are elite at amateur, more often than not, go on to have top level pro careers. Talent is talent.
Seems like the UK has a lot of these journeyman showboating/clown types. Josh Kelly? This guy? Every other year a new one makes their way to this forum without a good win.
The wheelchair was a bit much but honestly EMTs can be a bit over the top with these things. I think he was winning the fight so I really don't see a reason for him to look for an out? He looked decent enough boxing though so I guess we'll see how he does moving forward.
“I need to see proof of injury.” Why is that? Out of curiosity, do you need to see proof of injury from a fans perspective or a professionals perspective?
In other words, you don't have an answer. You say something silly and try to make it seem like it's above another person's comprehension to request an explanation of your comment. That boy was doing nothing different in the ring. PERIOD. Try holding yourself accountable to the nonsense you say rather than getting defensive and attacking some stranger's intelligence simply because they want to know what your vantage point is.
Let's try using the common sense factor here. Proof, clarification, etc.... is what I'm asking for because as a fan of the sport I pay attention to what happens in the sport. I saw the hype and promotion surrounding this young man, I saw him face adversity in this bout, then I saw a small mishap that 99% of other athletes would get up and walk away from, yet he was taken out in a wheelchair as if a major injury occurred. It all seemed like fake, fraud, fronted, hoax, etc....actions. My opinions on things occur based on information I have in front of me. I don't want to look at this young man as less of a competitor if he actually sustained an injury. It helps my conversation regarding the young man in case his name is a part of my future discussions regarding the sport. Does that answer your silly "What is that...." question? Now do you have anything to actually ADD to the discussion going on in this forum or are you simply here to ask goofy questions in defense of a man you have never met?......lol.
“Now do you have anything to actually ADD to the discussion going on in this forum or are you simply here to ask goofy questions in defense of a man you have never met?......lol.” I think this Whittaker should add value to his character of being a villain and tell the fans go **** themselves, no x-ray release, minimal explanation as to why he didn't continue.
A "sprained ankle".....after all that? Really? Perfectly capable of punching a hole through a wall and smashing a bypasser's phone but he needs a wheelchair to leave the ring? Clown.
