I was watching Monzon and Roy, well before your parents met.

Roy's engine was second to none.

He's not getting tired.

 

When did RJJ get tired in his prime ? I'd like for @tinman to give one example.

 

When did he fight Beterbiev?

 

And when has Beterbiev fought someone close to the talent, speed, power, of a prime RJJ ?

 

Never. But I never doubted that RJJ would land on Beterbiev.

Yes, Artur was demolishing LHWs at the age Roy started getting knocked out. At the same time, he was making his pro debut at the age Roy was a 3 division champion with wins over 2 future first balloot HOFers. Every athlete age differenty, that’s a knowledge anyone with 2 brain cells should hold.

Tarver is pretty much a same level LHW as a Virgill Hill, Reggie Johnson and Montell Griffin. It just so happens he ran into a Roy who was badly drained.

 

He must’ve logged a new name on his resume when he won that title and had a nice reign there.
