Both are finished but would he beat those fighters in their prime?

Yes. Neither was world class. Joyce gets into a firefight and gets lit up. Wilder would bottle it.

Wardley is very easy to hit and it would be lights out if Wilder landed first.

Would be a very interesting watch.

Fabio has just produced one of the best knock outs at HW in recent years, certainly in terms of devastating visuals. It was also against an opponent who is at a decent level.

Not sure why people are wishing the lad to fail here. Yes he has his level but everyone does. But he is a fun fighter to watch and his raw aggression and power more than makes up for his lack of amateur experience.

Surely the British forum should be behind him at this point as he has proven a lot of us wrong at this point, including me.

He needs a big step up now from the likes of Fraser Clarke I like him but I'm still unsure of what his level is we need to see him tested.

Happens all the time. A fighter has a great win and the instant reaction is ‘but he’d lose to this person!’

Wilder's power has gone now. Parker hurt him. Wardley irons him out.

    Really?

I never noticed but you never noticed that I posted the question about Prime Wilder.

Wardley. I don't recall Wilder breaking someones face to such a degree that they have been told to retire. Prime Wilder wasn't anything special.

Nobody said he was but he had World Class Power until the end of Fury 3.

This is just revisionism because of Wilder’s significant deterioration in his last couple of fights.

Wilder had freakish, freakish power. Just go back and look at his first round KO of Helenius. Wilder is on his back foot springing about on his back feet and with one of the shortest right hands you’ll see in HW boxing, on the back foot he knocked Helenius out cold.

Just because Wardley caused a fracture to Clarke, it doesn’t mean that he is more powerful. There are lots of reasons why fractures occur. No doubt it was devastating power from Wardley but it could have just been the placement of the punch that caused the fracture. In the build up to the finish Clarke naively turned back around from the ropes right into Wardley’s fist which will have caused damage itself prior to the knockout blow.

Eubank Jr is widely regarded to be a relative featherfist yet he put Blackwell in a coma and ended his career. Causing serious damage to the opponent isn’t always indicative of great power from the opponent, it’s down to a lot of circumstantial factors.

Wardley clearly has immense power, arguably up there as the hardest puncher in the UK, but there’s no need to be so revisionist about Wilder’s power. Prime Wilder was one of the worst skilled boxers we have ever seen yet he put Tyson Fury on his arse three times I think it was over two fights, purely because of his power. So it’s disingenuous to write him off as “nothing special”.

They always say the punching power is the last thing a fighter loses but that’s all wilder had so was first attribute he lost lol
