This seems ridiculous to me. I like to see mandatories enforced, but Michael Eifert has not yet proven to be a top light heavyweight.

This is a big chance for Eifert to end up in intensive care...

Beterbiev should take this fight, only so that the rematch with Bivol could be for all the belts. Unless of course Eifert pulls off the upset.

Is some strange way I respect the IBF. They give no f*cks.

Nah, he shouldn't waste time with this fight. He's got to go for the rematch ASAP before age diminishes him even further.

Beterbiev needs to move up. Politics always gets in the way

Ultimately the ball is in Beterbievs court. Rematch, mandatory defense, drop the belts and move up, or retirement are all respectable options.

Could be, but not for all the belts.

We deserve more interesting fight than that.

Yeah, Opetaia, winner of Zurdo vs Billam Smith. Better challenge and options for Beterbiev.

He said that he will continue to box, so that's not an option.

All 4 are respectable options. Only time will tell about what path he opts to take. Personally I would like to see him move up to CW.

Beterbiev should fight the winner of Morell-Benavidez, Buatsi, or Bivol in a rematch.

He should not move up, he's doing fine at 175 although he's age 39 and will inevitably slow down in the next couple of years.

I swear that IBF use a tombola to decide their mandatories.

That's the only explanation for the randomness.

He should fight one of the interim belt holders whether thats Benavidez/Morrell or Buatsi.

There has to be some sort of reform that prevents a body from ranking a otherwise unranked guy number 1 and demanding the champ fight them.

And here I thought the IBF was becoming voice of reason.
