I assumed that Usyk would be the overwhelming consensus by now.

    I wouldn't say it's overwhelming.

Byrd beat Vitali who ranks higher than Fury.

Byrd beat Tua who could beat Joshua in a H2H scenario.

Byrd beat Cooper who was around the same level as Chisora.

Byrd beat Holyfield who was old but still a very convincing win

Then you have other notable names like McCline, draw with Golota.

I would say Usyk has been much more impressive in his victories though where as Byrd in his title reign was barely holding onto his title with some very close decisions.

And also the Dubois win for Usyk looks alot better now in hindsight and if Usyk beats Fury again then I agree it would be overwhelming.

I am not sure that Vitally ranks higher than Fury, and Joshua sure as hell ranks higher than Tua.

Dubois ranks higher than Tua as well now.

As of right now I would comfortably have Vitali ahead of Fury.

As for Dubois he won a vacated belt yeah the win over Joshua legitimises the title to an extent. But he never actually beat the guy who held the title.

The difference is Tua only had 1 shot at the title and that was vs a prime Lennox Lewis I wouldn't say Dubois definitely rates above Tua he just had a better opportunity than Tua had remember Tua beat multiple former world champions.

Maskaev is a better than Hrgovic, and Miller is just an overweight former PED cheat.

Usyk. This is honestly a no-brainer.

I don't see how the Dubois fight makes any difference.

Vitally's best wins are Sanders and Peter.

Is that really enough to put him comfortably ahead of Fury?
Tua beat one fighter ranked in teh top ten by Ring Magazine, while Dubois is already on two.
The version of Maskaev that Tua beat, was not better than the version of Hergovic that Dubois beat.

Yes I would Vitali won 12 World title fights compared to 5 for Fury. And he also hasn't shown as many weaknesses as Fury like being dropped 8 times and arguably losing to an MMA fighter.

Yes that's all well and good but Tua beat 4 fighters who become champion so that's a significant stat.

Hrgovic is not very good, Miller is a 333 pound blubberball who was a PED cheat that didn't fight between 2019-2021.

The Joshua win is a good one but Joshua is also 35 years old and hadn't had a real significant win for 4 years.

 Does his loss to Dubois change the fact that Ruiz beat a single ranked contender in his entire career?

Of course it makes a difference. He's managed to lose 4 times despite rampant ducking of dangerous opponents
    no Fury
    no Zhang
    no Joyce
    no Bakole
    no Wilder
    no Wardley

That's not impressive when you factor in his failure to fight so many dangerous opponents

Lol weren't you just blaming Fury and Wilder for the Joshua fights not coming off?

Do you always move the goalposts when it suits you?

Apart from Dubois (who might prove to be great post-Usyk) what has Usyk got at heavyweight to make people think he's so far above Byrd??

Byrd beat V.Klitshko, Tua, Holyfield .... not a bad bunch.
Usyk best Joshua, Dubois, Fury ... not bad either.
