Any Finito Lopez fights to recommend?

The two Rosendo Alvarez fights are probably his most important in terms of competiveness and his only genuine rivalry at strawweight, coming right at the end of his near-decade long run as champion. Most of his other fights there have an exhibition-like quality in that he tended to be in control of the action.

Whilst he would likely have started as a favourite against them, fights with Michael Carbajal and Chiquita Gonzalez were there for the making only 3 pounds north during the early-mid ‘90s so it’s a shame he didn’t test himself there.

 

Watch the Preecha, Sorjaturong, Caraballo and Ohashi fights, and leave it at that... we need Lopez supporters here. Forget about the Rosendo Alvarez fights...don´t go there.

 

I'd certainly recommend the Alvarez bouts. They're the two most entertaining ones of his I've seen, and shows a different side of him, not dominating for a change.

 

I was joking, Sal. I am a fan of Lopez and need more people on my team here... the Alvarez fights need to be watched, of course, he is kinda of exposed there but they happened.

 

Ah, okay.

I like the guy a lot, he passes every eye test available. Hard for me to believe too that ALL his competition was that ho-hum.

 

Gorgeous fighter. Thought at the time if you could make a 160lb version of him, he would beat any fighter, in any weight class. Hyperbole perhaps, but man, was he something else.

 

Lopez’s fight against Alex Sanchez is his most impressive showing of you want to see his full arsenal. His most complete performance IMO.

He didn’t have any rivals, all the fights are class on his end - exception being a guy I forget the name of at the end of his career, watch those bouts.
