The fight is really popular mainly because of the last round and the commentary. 'Sali de ahi maravilla' is still a popular phrase when someone is in a toxic relationship

Yeah its a very old school boxing related club, im personally from San Lorenzo wich you know is the clasico. Did you know Ringo was first boxing in san lorenzo when he got thrown out for pissing in the public pool from the jump board?

Ohhh, ouch, I had to pick simply your rival lol.. the Pope club !! Not being a good season for you guys.

No, I did not know that. I love the fact that many fútbol clubs in Argentina have a boxing history, Racing with Acavallo, Unión with Monzón even though he was a Colón hincha, Mono Gatica always liked to show the Independiente colors up front.. I like that.

I feel that Ringo is overrated in terms of his real boxing accomplishments.

Sure he is a very popular figure who was a colorful part of the HW Golden Age, his fights with Ali, Frazier, Chuvalo, etc. his flamboyant life, tragically cut short, etc. And Ringo certainly was brave and tough as nails.

But nothing in his resume strikes me like ATG or even HOF material. He never won an international title. He was beaten by all the ATG he faced. He was mostly a fringe contender who was game.

Thus I also have a soft spot for Ringo, and certainly he is a fan favorite in the forum. But I also wonder if Ringo even belongs to the Top 10 ATG Argentinian boxers.

Yeah itrs true that he mostly beat top 10 contenders, and put Ali and Frazier on trouble until he lost. The thing is that he had a persona like Ali, he was like a little kid outside the ring and he is probably the all time most popular fighter in argentina.
He made everyone watch boxing, and my grandma who does'nt like the sport at all still tells his jokes
