If the rules were actually enforced by a strict ref? Sure. Lots of those guys would have a very good chance at beating Ruiz.

Not all, granted, but many fighters HAVE been in a position where they could pick and choose their opponents. And none went to HW to do it.
And yes we don't know how many former MW could have stepped up to specifically beat John Ruiz. But we do know one who did... Roy Jones! And the fact Toney also did it could be argued they were both generational talents who could've both beaten other HW contenders in history too. Plus Toney stayed at HW so he was pretty comfortable at the weight there, unlike RJJ who did it as an impressive one off

Ruiz was not a very big HW. He came up from CW and carried some extra fat on him. He had very limited skills and couldn't punch very hard. Not exactly the biggest threat from a fighter coming up from lower weight divisions trying their luck out at HW.

No the irony here is you're dismissing RJJ KOing Hill in 4 rounds which no one ever did to Hill.

Michalczewski also beat opponents after RJJ beat them does his wins get dismissed aswell according to your logic ?

As I said 0 IQ response it's literally just a hater spouting mental gymnastics to find a way to discredit a fighter they dislike.

Moorer and Spinks went up from LHW and beat the MAN of the division. Roy cherrypicked one of the worst HW beltholders ever who was tailor made for him. The win is really only special with RJJs delusional fanbase. It has not aged well.

AB is a chechen, they have almost nothing to do with russia or soviet union. Your American ignorance is showing. Not to mention he spent most of his career in Canada.

When Roy tried his luck at cruiserweight he was annihilated in one round by Danny Green.

This is an obtuse argumemt. Jones was finished as a top level fighter by 2004. The Green fight was five years later. Unfortunately because he carried on for so long after his prime it gives rise to idiotic statements like this. It's the equivalent of saying 'when Ali tried his luck against Berbick he was dominated.' Or 'when Tyson tried his luck against McBride he was annihilated' etc

That fight is downright embarrassing. Roy was obviously past it, but at the time he had only lost once in the past 4 years to one of the best p4p fighters in the world. Danny Green was seen as an easy win and a good way enter the CW division. Nope. Gets stopped in the first round.

It's hard to think of any highly regarded fighter who had as sudden and rapid of a fall from grace as Roy did. I wonder why that is?

It really has nothing to do with a 'delusional fanbase' here - though I do accept that the win can get overrated sometimes. Nobody (from what I've seen) here is saying that Ruiz was an amazing heavyweight. Or that Jones became THE champion. But by any sensible metric, whether you like him or not, a fighter who wins titles at middleweight, super middle, light heavy and then jumps up to beat a heavyweight is an I!impressive and unusual feat. the fact you can't give any credit at all, respectfully, I think actually hurts your argument. Yes, he hand picked Ruiz to gain a belt. But he still had to be good enough, despite being undersized, to do it. Many boxing publications at the time had Ruiz the favourite.
And yes Moorer and Spinks moved up from LHW to beat the man (abeit briefly, in both cases) But this wasn't the point I was making - I was pointing out how rare it is for former middleweight champions to beat heavyweights.

Jones was coming off a dominant stoppage win over Jeff Lacy before The Green Machine who was a heavy underdog annihilated him.
