Ya, tell that to 160lb Dervenchenko who had GGG running around the ring from body shots. Bonified LHW puncher Beter stops GGG. Period
I really doubt this, GGG is a lot smaller and although his chin is amazing the accumulation of blocked and body punchers is going to be too much. GGG does theoretically have the power to land a perfect shot and stop Beterbiev, so yeah a little more chance than vs Bivol, but I don't think it's even a 10% chance.
The stiffs that Golovkin feasted on during that time frame have no bearing on either Bivol or Beterbiev.
He got nailed clean a couple times from Lemieux and nothing happened. GGG has a great chin, especially at 168lbs. Canelo can punch. And GGG wasn't fazed. Also GGG has a great defense as well when he isn't in destruct and destroy mode.
Nahhh. But this fight would be a ****ing WAR! At 168 or maybe a catch weight above that so Artur isn’t too drained… CRAZY war. I will say if anyone has more of a chance to get caught and stopped, it’s Beterbiev. Triple G’s chin is legendary and Artur has been dropped. But I sure as hell wouldn’t bet on this. I lean towards Beterbiev on cuts or a HARD fought UD.
It's this stupid tendency right now to match fighters in H2Hs against dudes in weightclasses they have never fought at. Next thread: Mayweather vs Bivol at 175
I hear you, but idk. Canelos power isnt all that but hes still a relatively big puncher who landed flush, full wind up bombs with no effect. Couldnt dent even a 40 year old G. Danny Jacobs can punch and he landed a few really good shots to no effect. The one thing Lemieux can do is punch hard, and while he didnt land much at all he did land a nice short left hook with no effect. I suppose meaningless due to the sizes, but Brook landed a massive uppercut on G with no effect. I understand theres reasons one can dismiss each of these as being with a grain of salt, but when taken together, I think it suggests Golovkin had a pretty good chin. I think an average chinned fighter gets hurt at least once from one of those shots. That being said, none of that is close to what he would have to survive from Beterviev.
Agree with this. BTW Stevens, who is a big puncher even if only an average boxer, put some heat on GGG to no effect. Likewise Murata.
