The mere idea that Lou Del Valle could land a punch and knock Glass Jaw Roy down but Beterbiev couldn't is peak delusion. We aren't talking about the Johnson fight. I'm talking about Glass Jaw Roy getting put down and hurt by Lou Del Valle when he was still in his 'Prime'.
Beterbiev is a savage finisher its over for Roy after the first knockdown Beterbiev isn't going to struggle to put the clincher on him like Del Valle did.

Roy never fought DM. Just like he never fought a host of other guys in the various divisions he fought in. Beterbiev and Bivol were NOT scared to fight each other. It happened. Nobody or no tv networks are calling them 'Reluctant'

And again how many times do I have to say it ?

"Neither fighter was willing to travel"

Who are these fighters RJJ avoided at Light Heavyweight ? He beat 5 top 5 ranked Light Heavyweights and took on Tarver who was ranked number 1.

I deal in facts not your baseless opinion.

Who did Jones miss at LtHW aside from DM? What where they ranked at the time Jones held the belts? Since you seem to know it all, should be easy to answer.

Hill, Telesco and Ruiz should've iced Roy with the first few punches they landed by this logic. Bivol also backed Beterbiev up with counters. Are you saying Roy can't do one better than Yarde, Marcus Browne and Enrico Kölling ? Yarde just went life and death with a journeyman and has no gas tank

Just to finally add I have nothing against Bivol or Beterbiev I wouldn't say I'm a fan of either fighter but I respect them alot as fighters.

I just don't see why.we have to discredit a past great fighter to make them look better ?

RJJ was fantastic in his prime Bivol and Beterbiev have yet to complete their journeys and anything could happen in a rematch so let's wait and see how everything pans out in their careers.

Rochigianni (not checking the spelling) and Maske.

The former won a lawsuit over it.

Rocchigiani was also heading to a decisive win over Michalczewski before Michalczewski pulled a fast one. He was also quite inactive between 1996-2000 only fighting 3 times after the Michalczewski fight.

Maske would've never fought outside of Germany.

At the end of the day there's always going to be an excuse when a fighter loses, especially one so highly regarded. Weight draining may be mooted as the reason, even though the fighter in question went 12 rounds against the same opponent at 175 lbs 6 months prior to the loss, cut below 170 lbs 3.5 years after the loss and was still making 175 lbs 6 years after the loss at 41.

I can't see pics of the weigh in but the rumour (as per multiple news outlets) was that Jones didn't even weigh 193 lbs:

"After security separated the combatants, the weigh-in proceeded. Ruiz came in at 226 pounds, Jones at 193.
And that 193 requires an asterisk. Jones weighed in wearing sneakers, a sweat suit -- perhaps with weights underneath."

"The two fighters weighed in on Thursday, and the numbers basically outline the story for the fight. Jones weighed in at 193 pounds, and probably would have been under the 190-lb heavyweight minimum if not for the warm-up suit he wore when he stepped on the scale. Jones was just 185 lbs. on Monday."

It seems like far from putting on "20 lbs of muscle", Jones just opted not to cut his usual 10 lbs.

Beterbiev failed to make weight first time against Browne in 2021 and likely walks around close to 200 lbs, certainly over 190. Having to cut 15-25 lbs while on the cusp of 40 can't be good for his body, yet he just beat top 5 P4P Bivol.

He was too inactive and lost when it matters. Maske, like a slew of German fighters at the time, would not fight outside the US.

Graziano wasn’t fighting because he was suing the WBC for taking his title and giving it to Jones if I remember correctly.

Nunn and Collins were also in the mix and quite a bit better than some of the trash that Roy fought at the time. HBO made too many concessions in his contract so he fought some garbage opponents because it didn’t affect his pay.

Just out of curiosity what were your thoughts on Rocchigiani vs Michalczewski 1 ? I thought Rocchigiani was well on top and Michalczewski pulled a fast one to get out of the fight.
