Can tell someones bias if they come in here to say AJ, but not Fury and Wilder too. All three were largely overrated.
Yeah once when he was green. Usyk got him too which was a surprise. The 37 year old MMA fighters thing in MMA was knocking out people and having the hardest recorded punch on the UFCs machine measuring power obviously taken with a grain of salt. He also came into his boxing fights over 270. If nothing else Francis's power was real. If you're thinking AJ, Fury and Wilder should be treated the same I agree but Wilder and Fury have been treated with extreme skepticism by all but their most ardent supporters for quite awhile.
Yeah, precisely why a fighter who achieved his absolute maximum is the very last fighter to be labelled as such.
All that demonstrates is that the p4p lists are way off sometimes.. Broner should never have been considered a p4p talent. It was US hyperbole at its finest, anointing someone who in no way had warranted a #6 placing.
In defense of Broner, he battered Demarco who was the man at 135 after stopping Linares and Molina Jr. He then leapfrogged straight to 147 and took home a belt. I can see why he was pfp. Blame DeMarco for getting his ass kicked and Paulie for having his girl stolen.
Compared to what? They were the champions of their day, and were generally looked at as weak-er champions historically I thought? (I could be wrong there, I havent been active on the forum in close to a decade until recently) Or do you mean based on the opinions of more casual fans?
Someone brought up Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Has anyone mentioned Tim Tszyu yet? Both had some talent and yet got a TON of mileage off the family name. But Chavez Jr. actually crushed Andy Lee before it all came apart. I don't think Tszyu has beaten anyone as good or as dangerous as Lee was.
Adam Kownacki deserves a mention. Was considered to a a legit HW title contender until it all fell apart. A Polish David Price.
