First of all I'm not accusing Tito for anything... I just wanted to bring up that during an old episode of CSi the old crimey show, buddy from the lab says to person b: "have you heard about Felix Tito Trinidad? He used to dip his handwraps in cold ice water so that it would freeze a cast around his hands". Where does producer Jerry Bruckheimer come up with this? Lol.

I mean Tito was heavy-handed very heavy-handed and there was that incident where he had to rewrap for the Hopkins fight, something about not wrapping his hands properly. *I didn't say illegal, albeit Is there any truth to knock Tito for possibly/ perhaps cheating? Not for sure , not insinuating.

Common sense tells me it's just a tv show, but what do all of y'all think? Peace.

If you are going to "knock" anybody for cheating, it would be the state athletic commission where the fight took place. No fighter, trainer, hand wrapper can cheat unless the commission is in on the cheating. There is an inspector that watches the wrapping of the hands, then initials the wrap with a magic marker so if gauze or tape is added or taken away, it is obvious. The inspector even goes to the rest room with the fighter prior to the fight if the fighter needs to go. The wraps are checked again before gloves go on. Then the gloves are checked again and the tape around the laces is checked. Then the referee squeezes the gloves when the fighters are in the ring. The only way to cheat is if the commission is in on the cheating and it would require paying off more than one person with the commission.

I don't believe any glove/wrap tampering stories in the last 20-30 years.

That is stupid, punching someone with cold wet frozen hands would hurt the puncher and I never not warmed up before a fight so I am certain it would melt insulated in a glove then you would have wet wraps feeling heavier and oh how would you get the gloves on, jeez even the 10oz amateur gloves were too tight to not extend your thumb and fingers

It was a big nothing. It was a technicality on the way the tape and gauze is measured specific to NY/NJ. Oscar also had to re-wrap vs. Rivera, Canelo against Fielding. Nacho Beristain said he wraps all hands the same way, Robert Garcia saw him get wrapped against Vargas said nothing wrong and totally legal.

you wrap a hand to protect the hand, not make it harder because that would hurt the hand too much. Tito’s method of extra gauze, which is common outside that jurisdiction actually takes some of the sting off the punch if anything but protects the hand. Remember, he broke both hands against Jake Rodriguez so his dad sought a method to provide more padding to his hands.
