I don't think he'll win. But if he does.... Ranking, washed up MMA guy. Just another indicator of what a joke Bridgerweight is.

"Opetaia is fulfilling his mandatory against Michael Eifert on December 11 in Australia before unifying against the winner of Zurdo Ramirez vs Billam-Smith in Riyadh next year, which could be on February 22."

Read this over in the General Forum section and was hoping that someone here had any more news or could either confirm or deny this.

I do see over on the Boxrec schedule that Tasman are doing a show for DAZN on Dec 11 at Fortitude Music Hall, but at this stage, the main event is Conor Wallace

    That was me.

On Boxrec there’s an event in Australia on December 11 promoted by Mick Francis, Spencer Brown and Eddie Hearn.

I imagine that means Jai Opetaia will fulfil his mandatory defence on that date and Justis Huni will probably be on the card too.

sounds like a great card but wonder why no mention of either Jai or Justis on the card yet
Also, FMH seems like a small venue for Jai's title fight

Eifert is IBF mandatory challenger at Light Heavyweight for Beterbiev. Huseyin Cinkara is IBF mandatory for Opetaia. Opetaia will not be defending his title on that card. There is a chance Huni will be active on it though. Opetaia v Cinkara is filed under "wait and see" for now.

Another brutal loss for Whittaker while being on the cusp of fighting for the title again. I don't think there's much left for him to achieve in the UFC - He's won gold and has been consistently a second or third best for years now. Would be nice to see him have a send off down under though. He deserves that much. Go out on a high while still a top level fighter instead of sticking around as fodder for the new guard.

He could still make good money in some circus boxing fights with footy players.

I'd rather he retire and stick to the podcast game. By all accounts a good family man. But there's definitely quite a few clowns in the freakshow boxing circuit that he could knock out pretty easily lmao.

    Thanks for the update.
Hopefully, Jai still defends the belt in Australia.

In a podcast interview he did a while back and he said it took him ages to make any money at all in MMA, even in the UFC. He won't be as wealthy as many think. If he'd achieved a similar level as a boxer he would have been a multi millionaire.

Stevie Spark after successful hand surgery has hinted at comeback . Always felt Spark has some unfinished business at 147 lbs. He will be looking for new trainer after splitting with Brendan Smith . Waterman vs Aukuso in doubt will some legal issues to be settled before there 20 Nov bout.

Do any of you know what’s happening with Teremoana? Apparently Matchroom were trying to sign him but Tasman Fighters are having a legal issue with them now.

Sounds like Matchroom were trying to get Teremoana on their own deal. Seems a bit bizarre when Matchroom and Tasman Fighters both co-promote Opetaia and Huni.

Curious as to know why he split from Brendan and also the legal issues surrounding the Waterman v Aokuso bout

Seeing a lot of funny hypotheticals in the main how about this Aussie one.

Could the cruiserweight version of Danny Green beat the version of Paul Gallen who beat Mark Hunt?
