Ok boomer. Pulling for the r-word, are you?

You casuals and liberal, Golden-Age-of-the-80s historians do not get it. You see a beltholder knock around a "former contender" and assume all matchups are created equal. No, most of the sport is made up of just part-timers. Only a select few have the financial backing to commit year-round. Paul, through modern avenues, does. And he's used the resources to break free from the corporate boundaries and wicked promoters that fans pretend to hate so much—and, to boot, knocked out MMA personas in such a way that real boxing fans should be rallying behind.

Boxing is giving a little punk some direction and you people can only look at him with resentment because, again, your child's conception of the sport: you think boxing isn't supposed to be for rich kids. That's what scares people the most that it takes resources to succeed in this sport. It does. But not because of the money, per se. Like everything else, it's lineage and tradition—things the affluent hang onto and probably why they're wealthy in the first place. Paul has been able to circumnavigate that with the kind of modern, influx of cash only made possible during the internet age (think of dot com billionaires).

Tyson looked washed up against journeymen years ago, granted I think he's training harder now than he was then but I can't get the Holyfield performance against Vitor Belfort out of my head. Tyson is the same age.

    Tough one to call..

I thought Jake would smoke him based on age and being as active as he is. I rewatched Tyson vs Jones Jr again and was really impressed with Mike (He won that easily in reality). His skill is lightyears above anything Jake has faced. Roy barely touched him. Mike is also the biggest guy he has ever faced aswell. The previous biggest guys Tommy Fury and Anderson gave him his two toughest fights.

This is a bad idea. Mike must need the money. I hope it's just light sparring.

Don't know whether to think less of Tyson or more of Jake Paul.

Yep the punch resistance at 58 could be a big problem for Mike the only reason I don’t write him off completely is because Jake sucks. Recently 47 year old Barry Hall in Australia looked in phenomenal shape but he got destroyed in one round by former NRL player and novice boxer Curtis Scott. Hall was hurt by the first glancing blow Scott landed.
