I like Wardley. He's a nice fella and ìs clearly talented with big power. But there's quite a few people who deserve a shot far more. I know that's not how it works though. That said I'd watch it definitely.
Dubois shouldn’t take this fight imo, it doesn’t do anything for him. He would be the considerable favourite so if he wins, he would have beaten an unproven opponent that most people didn’t fancy If he loses, he’ll have lost against an unproven opponent that no one views as elite it’s not a particularly big money fight either. Better options out there for Dubois
On paper it's an easy night for Dubois and after the run he's had you couldn't blame him for taking an easy fight, however it's a potential banana skin...Dubois can be hit, he can be hurt and Wardley is fast, awkward and hits like a mule. I'd very much favour Dubois but I wouldn't rule out the upset.
On paper. Dubois just beat 2 contenders who were ranked higher than Wardley and then smashed aj, so on paper he should be a big favorite against Wardley. But of course I don't rate Dubois that highly
This is more my line of thinking. I'm not sure what Dubois gains as it's a high risk low reward fight. I think Wardley smashes him tbh.
He should be a favourite, but it absolutely isn't a mismatch. Wardley can bang and is ranked in the top ten of the world. Dubois ships punches. I don't think he can take the power of Wardley tbh.
I would never make fight boxers with few easy fights in their resume even if unbeaten with a title holder like Dubois. Besides Wardley tends to bleed a lot if hit hard. Dubois TKO's him inside 4 or 5 rounds. Dubois would have had to face fighters like Zhang or Kabayel.
Never saw this coming, however there’s nothing wrong with it. Forget about the totally spurious IBF belt, and it’s a straight forward 12 rounder with 2 Brits. Far more credible than Mr Entitled getting yet another rematch after comprehensive defeats!
I said AJ was the likely favorite. I bet on Dubios by KO and made $300 though. Wardly also hasn't fought the same caliber of opposition that Dubios has. Easy money imo, but happy to eat my hat if I'm wrong.
He signed up for VADA testing late and spent a while in Brazil before that. I have my suspicions. No reason for one of the biggest fighters in the world to sign up for VADA testing late before the biggest fight of their career. I remember it happened with Conor Benn and he ended up failing multiple drug tests the year later.
You said "Dubios isn't going to be much of a challenge to AJ tbh. So yes, it's a gift. Usyk even presented it as such" Wardley has fought nowhere near the opposition of Dubois, but Wardley has legitimate power and the way Dubois takes shots I really do think Dubois gets starched here.
Wardley takes an awful lot of shots himself and Dubois is the more powerful and more skilled fighter in this one. Haven't seen Wardley fight a big puncher yet.
Still backed Dubios with my money. Wardley beating a domestic rival isn't even close to any of Dubios last three wins. He's getting smashed. As for Wardleys power.. who exactly has he beaten?
